    Torino means "little bull" in Italian. So the crest shows a bull for where it was made. I like that.

    I got the large red box sometime ago and love the package overall. The color palette is pleasant and due to its size the stock is tremendous. But for me it has become more of a novelty than a practical reading deck. Obviously, the size of this deck provides the opportunity to adjust one’s shuffling technique to say the least. As a matter of fact I don’t think I’ve ever actually shuffled it. Much like the green box Crowley Harris Thoth deck, it’s hard to manage. The book is very nice and provided me with a different system than what I’ve studied and become fluent in (HOGD based system). I think I would rather enjoy the more standard size you showcased and will likely pick one up soon. My first TdM was CBD as well. It’s still in very great shape as I feel like I need to take care of it because it is kind of special to me as it was a gift. I usually carry and frequently use a Spanish made TdM (copyright 2019 Naipes Heraclio Fournier), a subsidiary of Newell Brands Inc. The color scheme is nothing like the tradition I’m used to and it’s a playing card stock. The cards are more rectangular than playing cards and slightly smaller than say, the CBD. Anyway, it’s my everyday carry and I’m comfortable slipping them in my shirt pocket and taking them to the beach. I’ve had this Fournier deck for about two years and it’s a bit worn, but that’s what this one is meant for. Great Work as usual and I have my notifications set for your up and coming tarot talks. Looking forward to seeing them and hopefully live.

      Yes!! I agree. The Spanish TDM is amazing! One of my favorites. It’s also a perfect size! The big deck for me is only for group readings on Zoom. I also have a CBD in a similar large size I printed myself! Thank you my friend 💙☘️

    The 1909 Tarot Kit has an excellent guidebook written by Sasha Graham. It is surprisingly deep esotericly for its small size.

    "Do I really need another Tarot de Marseille book?"....surely the answer to that is always yes? ;)
    I often recommend Caitlin Matthews' Untold Tarot for a smallish book that packs a punch, good to know that this LS book is a decent rec too. I've yet to pick up a copy but look froward to when I do.

      @@the-999-asmr-tarot-art-showI'd say Untold Tarot is a good quick-start book and then Ben Dov's is good for digging deeper into the system.

    I was looking for reviews of that book and found this video! My first way of reading TdM came through the Ben Dov book, and I do have his deck as well. But the Lo Scarabeo book became my favourite! It is short and sweet and packs a punch. Do you have the Piatnik Marseille? It is my all time fave deck of that type, but I have been thinking of getting another version of TdM that is like older woodcuts from France… I think I have an addiction lol

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  Рік тому

      I really like the Piatnik TDM. It’s based on the Ignaz Krebs. Pablo Robledo restored a deck from 18th century called Carrajat that may actually interest you. It has a common lineage with Krebs. I did a review a while back. If you can get a hold of that one I would highly recommend. Addiction is understandable 😂 Check out Yves Reynaud collection and of course Tarot Sheet Revival. Thanks for watching..

      @@justinmichaeltarot my copy of Camelia's cartomancy book was recently shipped to me and I'm about to receive it (any day now)! i also want to purchase her playing cards deck on makeplayingcards. i also have the rachel pollack book (78 degrees of wisdom). i got the untold tarot book today and i skimmed through it. i won't probably use the meanings section, but i loved the spreads chapter. i'm dying to try out the tarot tableau style of reading, but i gotta think of a good question for it!

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  Рік тому +1

      @@etherealwavefan94 I have to revisit that spreads section. Honestly the best book by Rachel I found was Tarot Wisdom. 78 Degrees is tailored more for the Rider Pack. Tarot Wisdom goes into pip reading. It’s a nice reference too. I find Rachel does with myth and story, what Camelia does with pictures.
      Sometimes we can get ourselves into a situation where we start buying too many books and it clouds your confidence in reading. This happened to me. I would go back and forth with how I read the cards. It’s better to build on how you already read. Use the books for ideas and techniques. That’s just my experience. If and when I relaunch the TDM group, you are welcome to join. Not sure when that will happen. That’s a great way to practice tho

      The Artisan Conver is really nicely done. I have a lot of Conver style decks. I also love the Poncet! I would say the LS deck is classic Mass Market style whereas the Artisan Tarot is more of inde quality. The cardstock is awesome!! The lines are also very nice in Artisan Tarot. Kind of off-topic, but the book made me think of it: I so wish someone would talk about how the minors of the TdM and of the RWS decks are like two completely different systems. I have gotten so I cannot even go between the systems because the meanings of the minors actively contradict each other most of the time. The majors are more similar, I suppose, but even there there are differences to me.

    • @justinmichaeltarot
      @justinmichaeltarot  2 роки тому +1

      Yea that’s fair. The majors differ in certain ways too particularly with strength and justice. You have to work with what you feel most comfortable with. I come from RWS but I’m more of a marseille reader now. I still read with Rws. There is more of a Liberty with pip cards where fully illustrated decks will have elements of the number in it but will be a specific interpretation. That is if you use numerology as a foundation as i do. For instance if we look at the four of swords in marseille, I think stability and structure.. in Rws that structure is manifested in a sleeping warrior. That’s an aspect of stability.. for me personally. The more you work with both the more commonalities you will see. But just remember you can tailor your meanings, particularly with pip decks.
      Thank you my friend. 🙏☘️
