What do you do with a teenager who doesn't care about anything and is openly talking about wanting to use drugs and not even thinking about quitting drugs?
@@LiveOnPurposeTV I'm in the UK and having the same problems with my 15 yr old son who now smokes cannabis daily 😭 I'm completely beside myself with stress & anxiety. Tried everything to reach out to, and reason with him. He just says he likes it and isn't going to stop. Our relationship and his school grades are both fast deteriorating. Also hes lost so much weight because he skips meals & wont eat propetly. Then he binge eats when comes down from cannabis. I suspect he makes himself sick afterwards. We have always been so close and I'm devastated by all this - and feel powerless and out of my depth. At 15 its virtually impossible to get a Saturday job here, so if I don't give him £cash to socialise he openly tells me he will be persuaded to deal to get cash 😭 Along with teens his own age, he is mixing with 18+ yr olds on a daily basis who smoke too and are either DD themselves or connected to DD. My son thinks they're all cool and his friends, and doesnt think he's being exploited, but to me, he clearly is. E.g. He was coerced recently by 2 of the so called friends who are 3/4 yrs older than him into doing something v bad for just £10!!! which I cannot repeat on here. He is definitely frightened of retribution as a result of but will not stop mixing with the group. I'm so ashamed of how he is behaving which is not how I've brought him up. But hugely more importantly I am majorly scared for him (& myself) about where all this is leading. Nothing I say or do makes any difference. Unfortunately co-parenting is impossible with my ex-h who is highly abusive to me (& was throughout our marriage), and has never created any boundaries or consequences for our son if there's been bad behaviour. He enables all of this to continue and undermines me at every opportunity. My son knows his father is abusive to me, and a very heavy drinker yet is still manipulative between us. I've spoke to the school who are dire, and was told to stop micromanaging my son!! Spoke to GP when something else bad happened & despite being referred for 'help', that has made zero difference either - and my ex keeps telling me off for seeking help for our son so I cannot win. His method of let him see the light himself is not working and I cannot just stand by and do nothing. Yet he has even been told off on his own for being drunk & disorderly & also with others for ASB by the Police, but doesn't even take that seriously. I'm getting nowhere and it's only getting worse. At my wits end now and it's making me so ill. Please please can anyone offer any advice? I'm in the UK. Thank you for reading this, and any positive advice would be greatly welcomed.
