This is a simple articulated leech pattern I've tied up for a client. The beads are 8mm trout beads and I really like the opalescent orange color for this purpose. I've been tying this in black, purple and olive versions.

Chimo and Double Dang missed another live... but this was awesome! - "Freak on a Leash" - good tune, "ABESL on a Leash" better tune ;o) Quite a difference in wrapping the bunny on the hide or just hair in a loop, both have their merits depending on what your going for. Thanks for showing both. To me the octopus hook with the strip and a looped hair hackle would've made a nice "simple" pattern.
It's amazing the different thickness in rabbit hides from commercial and wild cottontail I've harvested. I still have my first pelt I skinned, scraped and air dried. It's thin as parchment and rips easily. I tied my first zonkers and Dalhberg Divers with it. I love the hair, long speckled guard hairs and plush grey underfur. I use it for lots of tying. Then I bought some skins at Hobby Lobby that were thicker but the fur looked like a summer coat, short and thin - not plush at all. Guess I'll use for dubbing but I got them to cut my own strips.
Thanks Professor Piscator for another fine tutorial... Cheers

Sorry I missed you "live" Darren. Nice pattern - personally, I prefer the dubbing loop method for the collar. Use a lot of dubbing loops and custom composite dubbing brushes in my tying. Made a small (7 inch table) brush making jig so I can bash out a short composite for a couple of flies if I need to - find it fast and very convenient. Some of the local rivers are open, looking to get out with the fly rod in a couple of weeks. Cheers! Hank

Hank, thanks for catching the replay. I' was looking to get a turbo dubbing spinner for myself, but haven't been able to find the one I'm after. The loop is really nice, but can be tricky for beginners. For the rabbit, if the hide is supple and thin, I don't bother with the loop, but some of the hides can be really thick. I'd like to see your brush set-up. Good luck out on the water. Cheers

@@PiscatorFlies I'll take a couple of pictures and send them to you. Made mine in an evening from stuff that I had in the workshop. Take care. Hank

Brian, the fly really pulses well and plumps up on the pause, slims on the strip. It sinks, but the bead isn't too heavy and sinks slowly, so if you are fishing it in flowing water, you'll need some weight or slack to keep it down. Cheers
