I agree. We shouldn't care about their label just appreciate the music, and also it brings pride to the Philippines because the members are Filipinos.

I actually don’t mind them using global pop because it simply means pop.
This group was formed from a reality idol talent show. The Korean company MLD & the Filipino company AbsCbn entered into a partnership because the Koreans are starting to see the talent of Filipinos, while the Filipino artists really want to break into the international market just like Kpop. Both companies saw that they have the same goal which is to introduce new talent & it just happened that they chose to promote Filipino talent globally.
It's not literally the music why they were called Global Pop Idol group. The two companies came into that kind of label because the Philippines can't claim that these boys only belongs to them so with the Korean management. That's why they were called Global. So how are we going to call them. Will they be still Philippine Idol since they are from the Philippines? Or will they be called Korean Idol since they were trained in Korea? That's how the Global 'Pop Idol' Group was formed.
@@proudajero1709 i know that. They can’t be categorized as Kpop because they’re not Koreans & I don’t think Koreans will consider them Kpop. They can’t be categorized as Ppop because they will be based in Korea so the people behind making their music will be Koreans. So global pop is the safest way to describe them & the music they will make. I did say it was a partnership between a Korean company & Filipino company. So, I’m still hoping that maybe they will also include Filipino minds in the whole process of music production.
But for foreigners, global pop is just pop because literally global means “the world/of the world.” Global is an adjective that describes what kind of pop. It must be a sound that will be appealing to listeners from all over the world. Because honestly, not all songs appeal to every people, that’s why there are popular songs in one country but not in another country. But it is also a fact that there are songs that are popular in every, if not, almost every country.
So labels…really are not that important. It’s just Filipinos are making a fuss out of it. Whatever type of pop that is, they’re still all pop music. What’s important that we should care about as listeners is if artists create good music or not.
But from the interview with MLD. The gist of what both Korean & Filipino companies want is to promote Ppop globally. But if the people behind will all be Koreans, it will definitely just sound Kpop. So I am wishing & hoping that what they will do is maybe to fuse those 2 styles together. I’ve also seen some Korean reaction videos where they say that Ppop does sometimes sound Kpop but they also said there’s something in Ppop that they don’t really hear in Kpop. So…for the Koreans there are also slight differences between our music & theirs.
@@raechellesy8065 indeed very precise and on point. What I don't understand are the people who are trying to throw their misconceptions about stuffs and terms. As if they even know what they are saying or Mema Lang ✌️🤪 and create arguments that are not even arguable and who act smart when they are simply sound funny.
Hope your message will be heard and so people who keep making arguments about this will come to realization.

Wow! This MV is a genre in itself! Thanks for reacting to the DASH MV. I am a fan of HORI7ON especially the 2 bunsos or Maknaes named Jeromy and Marcus as they are so cute! They are only 14/ 13 years old but their performance is like that of an adult.
Wow... This is the most comprehensive discussion about the music production of DASH by Hori7on and the possibility of ppop going big. Actually, they shot this music video in just two days with very few film crew, i think i only saw 4 to 5 people on it. The director and most of the film crew are koreans. That very old building was filmed in Intramuros, a century old walled city built during the Spanish era back when the Philippines was one of its colony. Anyway, ive been following your reactions since BTS days. Im also an Army and a fan of Hori7on.

Thank you for reacting to HORI7ON. The 7 boys are all Filipino who won the idol reality show in the PH called Dream Maker which was produced by ABS CBN, MLD Entertainment and Kamp Korea. Dash is a pre-debut song...the boys will officially debut this coming June in South Korea. Hope you can also react on their 2nd pre debut song SALAMAT 💕

I followed Hori7on’s members since day 1 on Dream Maker. I really like most of the members. The Holy Family. The only thing I cringe about is that although they’re Filipinos, they greet in Korean. They say Bye in Korean. They say thank you in Korean. Count in Korean. I get it. They’re from a Korean company. But hey, we Filipinos in America take pride in our heritage. So I’m not happy that it seems like, they do not intend to represent their ethnicity. So hopefully, their management would let them carry their culture as they join the global entertainment industry. I’ll give them time and see where the journey takes them. They need a lot of training if they’re gonna debut in Korea, where the best pop groups in the world are. Good luck to Hori7on. That's right show who you are, your audience are around the globe they should recognize you as Filipino
They are going to debut in SoKor, it is understandable that they use such greetings because like I said, they are going to debut in Korea and their main base is going to be in SoKor. As you probably know, Koreans don't speak english that much, in order to reach korean audience they need to study and learn atleast basics whether they like it or not. And who says they are forgetting their Filipino roots? They just released their new song "salamat" in filipino literally just few days ago. Also, if you really watched and supported the show from the start, you probably know that they were supposed to debut as KPOP idols, but the management changed it into Global pop group to not disregard their filipino roots. In simple terms, all their music style, aesthetics, attitudes towards their fans, among others will all be based on the standard of KPOP groups. Definitely not to disregard their filipino roots, but simply because that is the route that they are going to take.
@@gucci7316 Gpop is a safe label for them not to create friction with aspiring Kpop groups in South Korea. As we all know, there's always a Korean group being formed everyday in their country. For them to be accepted by Koreans is to patronize their language and their culture, and to be look like them, too. But deep in their hearts, they're Filipinos who wants to reach their dreams no matter what and deep in our hearts they are Filipinos. Filipino pride there is not applicable.

The Filipino and Korean managements of these guys made it clear that they're being tailored into a global pop group because they do not only cater to a certain demographic but they'll be producing a lot of English songs in the future which is close to being universal.

Since the Philippines can't claim that this group belongs to them alone so with the Korean company they labelled it as a Global Idol Group which others don't understand and having a misconception about it.
And these kids doesn't even have any proper trainings yet . They didn't have any vocal trainings where all the things will only happen once they arrive in Korea by May.
This is only a predebut song coming from a group with 13 to 23 year old members.

HORI7ON is not PPOP it's a GPOP or Global PoP Group because it's a part of Kpop and also a Ppop that's why a GPOP ❤

The outfits were used in the show as well. This I think is sort of a pre debut? I heard they'll train in Korea for a couple of months and will officially debut in June. OPM could be any language but that’s probably because we have different languages, tagalog/Filipino, bisaya, chavacano etc and even if it’s in English it’s still OPM. Well, idk if I can categorize charice’s pyramid, or apl de ap’s solo releases opm or just pop (or whatever the genre is).
Anyways, even before this co-production, (mldxabscbn), I’ve always wondered when eric nam released an all english album, so that’s still kpop right? I just have this question in my head, not that I asked anyone about it. And then many other artists are also releasing english album or like english version of the original song/album.
I’ve also watched Korean vocal coach saying that kpop is not just what most people think kpop is, that it’s kballad too, khiphop. (Like OPM, probably pertaining to Kmusic in general)
I think what I really don’t understand is “pop” like what’s pop because sometimes it’s “pop” ballad but it ballad, it’s rock, it’s dance, it’s rnb. So if it’s popular, it’s pop? 😅
Pop is a music genre. Mostly popularized by american pop music. American boybands to japanese pop to korean pop etc. OPM is a song recorded in the philippines, sang by a pinoy artist or maybe anyone from other countries as long as it was done by a pinoy composer and producer and their first target audience are pinoys.
