Fail safe (also known as NC) means when there's a power failure, people inside the facility are safe because they can get out. Fail safe strikes will be in UNLOCKED POSITION when no power is supplied to it. Fail-secure (also known as NO) is the opposite. Secure means your precious contents in the facility is SECURED since when there's power failure, the strike will be in LOCKED position. Hope this helps.
@kawamall I see now. With the strike installed you do not actually have to turn the door knob from the outside AND you could also use a key in the doorknob if the system fails.
Push1 is not a ground source. Push1 acts like a switch, it waits for a signal from the controller and the power supply will relay the signal to the electric strike. You can have the electric strike be connected to the controller, but we don't recommend that you do that because you want the power supply to do the work.

I bought one of these simple access controls for my door. I came with a "Low Temperature Electric Bolt". I have wired everything up as illustrated in the documentation (Chinese)... Only one snag. The Strike wont work. I presume its a NO lock but even though the power unit and key pad send the right trigger to unlock the door (checked the NO & NC terminals with meter), the bolt still wont budge. Do you have any clues as to what I can do? and 2ndly, is there a way to "Jimmy" a NO lock to a NC one?
