"Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion" easily one of the most fun indie games ive played. easy plat as well, but its just such a funny game with the story, characters, and collectibles. YES the collectibles are FUN because you get to rip up important documents, which if you take a second to look at each one, you'll no doubt get a good chuckle out of most of them. also, you can set off a nuke, which is required for a trophy. fucking diabolical. top 3 indie game for me.
I found What Remains of Edith Finch while I was looking for easy platinums to increase my total. That used to be all I cared about. But that game was so incredible and fantastic, I got it off PS+ but ended up buying it regularly and platinuming it on 3 different accounts. Absolutely the best indie story game I have ever played, if you are looking for a platinum, seriously play What Remains of Edith Finch.
@@Nica9979 late answer but its not a germany thing, Edith Finch has only a platinum on the ps5 version, the ps4 version doesnt have a platinum, hope this info helps
Sally Face was the first game I got all achievements for, and I really recommend it. Hollow Knight is my favorite game, and its achievements will make you feel very good and very skilled once you get them. Definitely the one I'm proudest of. Other recommenddations for indie games would be Fran Bow and Minute of Islands. Both are very easy to get all achievements on, and have very interesting stories. My personal favorite very indie studio is Desert Fox, and I'll suggest Bad Dream : Coma from them. A dark point&clic narrative game with a very twisted, very interesting and poetic, a litle gory, story. It's virtually impossible to get all achievements for unless you're following a guide... but I don't mind doing that, so I really enjoy them. One last rec, Amanda the Adventurer. Super neat and original game !
I actually got this one today but Grim Fandango was incredibly easy. Funny game, you can get it done in like 13 hours. Would recommend having a guide for it though. A lot of missable stuff. I guess it’s not really indie though
The Deadly Tower of Monsters was a surprise for me as well. I had a great time with it. As of now my favorite indie game would be Apotheon. I am a bit biased when it comes to it as it was my first platinum trophy ever, but I had a great time playing it.
One of my favourites outside a couple in this vid has gotta be co-op Spiritfarer. Such a nice surprise of a game, although by the end it faltered slightly. Haven was also very pretty + good story and one underrated gem is Paradise killer!! If you can get past the assets lmao
Awesome list man! Gotta give a shoutout to Kaze and the Wild Masks. It’s an amazing 2D platformer that takes a lot of inspiration from stuff like Rayman Origins/Legends. The platforming in that game is seriously top-tier stuff, and it’s got such a pretty art style and really creative level design. I REALLY recommend it to anyone who likes 2D platformers!
I've gotten the Plat in most of these indie games and really enjoyed them. There are a few that I haven't tried yet, so will check them out sometime in the future. Suggestion : You should maybe consider doing a video on all the PS5 games that have PS4 to PS5 autopop trophies?
I personally recommend fuga:melodies of steel. It is a tactical rpg with a really good story and a really good soundtrack. It also is part of a series that started on the PlayStation 1 and then had it’s 2nd part get released on the Nintendo DS
Gylt, Fresh Start, Wytchwood, Pumpkin Jack, Haven, the Artful Escape, the Chant, Disco Elysium, and Coral Island are some other good indies. All are relatively short, except Coral Island (will probably be like 150+ hours, but great if you like farm simulators).
Stray I found it quite loved overall. There was only one trophy I had mich challenge with being that one chase without being caught. Even the speedrun was rather forgiving with time window so long as you know where you're going. Undertale, fair, not for everyone, but an overall wonderful experience and the platinum looks far easier than I expected coming from someone who ran through the game on Switch version but did look at the trophy list after. Endling was a simple one I looked forward to first seeing it announced in a Nintendo Direct, but loved more than I expected upon playing through it. Cute, but fair share of dangers, and had quite some feels. Pretty neat trophies overall. Tunic was a game I heard of, decided sure why not give it a try when it came to be one of the monthly ps+ free games. And, wow, what an experience it was. Don't think it's my favourite game ever, and in this video alone I would place Undertale higher personally (for overall game, not necessarily as a trophy hunt), but certainly would put it higher on my list I think.
Eternights is great if you’re into action rpgs with light persona elements. Avgn 1+2 deluxe is a fun platforming mega man style shooter, but mostly if your a fan of the source material. But Anno: Mutationem is probably my favorite of these and highly recommended.
Toem looks very sweet, it's caught my eye of all games on this list the most alongside The Last Campfire. Very nice art styles for the both of them. My own favourite indie game at this point would be Clash: Artifacts of Chaos by ACE Team. It's a prequel to the Zeno Clash series and yet again full of beautiful and bizarre art direction for its prehistoric monster world. Solid gameplay, fantastic atmosphere through the art direction and music (especially the music), and a very good story. That said, Cookie Cutter and No Straight Roads are also very high on my list of indie games that have had pretty profound impact on me, i think. The lead dev of Cookie Cutter hopes to substantially support it for a long time to come (though it's already essentially a finished game), adding in stuff like combo counters, area environment collectable counters, new areas, story elements and chapters, bosses, etc. Alongside No Straight Roads, it's the first big game project of their respective studios (Subcult Joint for Cookie Cutter and Metronomik for NSR). Metronomik is currently working on a new game called Ondeh Ondeh, which instead of music seems to be partially inspired around confectionaries and desserts, like the Malay dish it's named after. All of these games and studios definitely deserve attention, but i'll do you some better and name a cubic buttload of games worth checking out. - Soulstice - Harold Halibut - Blud - Gori: Cuddly Carnage - Genokids - Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip - Whatever games Moonhood Studios are cooking up (previously the studio behind games like Stick It To The Man and Lost in Random) - Loco Motive - The Mermaid's Tongue - Resistor - My Familiair - Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo - Papetura - Yasuke: A Lost Descendant - Strangeland - Mariachi Legends - Nine Sols - Games by SKA Studios (The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, Charlie Murder, Salt and Sanctuary) Most of these games have yet to release or are still in development and *sweet mangoes in strawberry syrup* are they all worth speaking more about. And there's so much more to go. I hope these all prove interesting for anyone who reads this comment to want to look deeper into them and hopefully spread the word on. Have a good one and take care.
bro i do recomend a MUST PLAY game: Forgotten City. Don't look for nothing, avoid spoiler at all cost, just trust in your subscribers, this is a GOAT and easy plat but goddam, what a genius game. For me, the most extraordinary historytelling/exploring/discovering that i played on the last years.
Great list, so many I have not played. So other games I would add to the list, assuming they are considered indie - is Transistor and Dust: An Elysian Tail

Lately, I've been finding the distinction of what is considered to be an indie game to be quite interesting. Like, I'd consider myself to be more of a niche-focused gamer but to many others, a lot of those niche titles I'm into are basically indies anyway. "Yomawari", "Mad Rat Dead", "Penny Punching Princess", "Bar Stella Abyss", "htoL#NiQ", "Cruel King & Great Hero", etc. I've seen all of these get called indie at some point, or indie-like, which is funny since the developer behind all of them, NIS (Nippon Ichi Software), also has developed games that aren't considered indie, like "Disgaea" most prominently. I guess the only definitive cut off point acknowledged by pretty much everyone is the far extreme end of AAA. Everything else is more or less fair game.
Ngl the Undertale Plat disappointed me a bit since the Game is well worth playing through (they could have made it a real hard plat too but let us not go there) ^^" Stray was also super fun and a great challenge. I actually plat quite a few of the games on this list. My add to this though would be Cat Quest 1 and 2. If you haven´t played these yet please do. Cat Quest 3 was already announced and I can not wait for it.
apparently the plat was made to make fun of trophy hunters, toby fox follows the nintendo philosophy of trophies/achievements not mattering but is even pettier by making you click x a thousand times to get the plat. Personally I think it's wack
Fair question! Indie = Independent. It usually refers to a game that doesn't have a publisher or large backing behind it. In easy terms it normally just means a smaller game with smaller budget than your popular GTA/Assassins Creed etc..
Being “overrated” is a far fetch. I found the game months after the release without seeing anything about it. Don’t get games and base your expectations of of others “hype”
