thank you, I'm happy after the wiring mod. the bass itself is excellent stock wise, i don't see the needs of changing the preamp or pickups. it was just a little noisy and can be addressed by shilding the cavity. the tone control does sucked that sparkle high at around 8k , but can be compensated by boosting the high. there's a little article I wrote in the link there.
@@tree-style thanks for the reply. I read the article before watching the video, that was well explained too. I have bought the same bass and waiting on delivery. I've read about so many changing the pre and the pups, that's why I asked you your thoughts. Also read about the hum and shielding, like you posted. Looking forward to testing mine out, cheers.
@@mrbungle7586 it’s a great bass without any mods. You’ll have fun slapping it all day. It’s just playing passive with a tone control fits my needs better. I enjoyed the series/parallel mod too (and happen to have a 500k push/pull pot in my drawer I wish I can have a 1meg one for even brighter tone). I’ve spend a night or 2 to set it up to the way I like. One thing special is that this bass has a screw that adjusts the neck angle .
@@tree-style thanks again, once I get it and play it for awhile, break her in, I'll know whether to mod it or not. The micro tilt adjustment is a bonus too. Cheers
Good content
Nice job, sounds good. Have you thought about changing the pups or happy after the wiring mods?
