From QI Episode 03 of Series I (09) Stephen Fry, Alan Davies, Sean Lock, Frank Skinner, and John Bishop discuss use of the word, 'irony.' Property of the BBC.
i think there is an episode when a side character asks columbo to help him find/investigate something and columbo agrees and says that three eyes are better than two
I sort of agree that Columbo is the greatest ever show. Because thinking of the times we living and speaking of current.. No wait: it's just really timeless.
Pity there aren't more with Frank Skinner.

It's like rain on your wedding day. A free ride when you've already paid.
MrTohawk No, not at all ;)
It's not even coincidence. It's just misfortune.
the irony of that song is that she doesn't use anything that could be considered ironic, Alannis is way smarter then you may think
@@marcob6880 Ironically.
I wouldn't say that last example was ironic.
I would say it was more steely.
THERE'S GOT TO BE A POINT WHERE YOU STOP CARING FOR PORK
Every example was from america...Holy Crap, it's a country just made of irony. Interesting.
:)
Conversely, "rain on your wedding day" isn't ironic! Unless Alanis Morissette was getting married to Ra the Sun God, anyway.
But "rain on your wedding day" not being ironic is ironic.
Sean so despises Skinner.
And he's not the only one, I hate the guy
Really? I sort of got the impression he really respected him
