Just curious, what do you do with the dummy while you're not working on it?? I can't imagine having a full length body just chilling in your living space is too good for your mental health in the middle of the night.
+KittyIvie I have a separate workshop room, it's just really small. So I leave it in there and shut the door haha! No strange animal men staring at me in the night c:
Thank you so much for all your tutorials. They are by far the easiest to understand and follow along with. I've made 3 heads using your methods and I plan on using this tutorial for my first bodysuit. You're amazing!!
omg you're really generous for putting this out. Thank you! I have been studying your fur suit head tutorial and it came out much better the second time around for me :3
The simplest way I've made digigrade legs for a bodysuit is by hot gluing foam shapes onto a pair of leggings, pattern it, then put another pair of leggings over the foam and begin sewing the fur into the leggings. (Make sure that both pairs of the leggings are connected when you start sewing)
Definitely seems like a ton of work, you'd have to have tons of motivation. I plan to make my very own suit, it's gunna take me like 5 years just to get here 😂😂.
YAY! I have been waiting for this video ever since the first one came out!!!! Thank you so much for making these tutorial videos. The best tutorial videos out there!
W0W! I was just watching the last video by you and i was like "She hasn't made a video in a while.. i hope she makes one soon." And poof! New video! :P
Hi Kloofsuits! We really like your videos and they're a great help to us! If we may ask, where do you get commissions from? We have advertising in most places we can but we can't seem to get any takers. Any tips? Where are there a lot of fursuit lookers?
Question, do you send the dummy back to the commissioner or throw it away? I want to commision someone but if I ever want to commision another person I don’t want to repeat the situation. If you don’t reply thanks for at least taking the time. Much love -Wave
you may have a bit more room in your workshop if you didn't have the piano :p. jk your tutorials are pretty good tbh. i'm not planning on making a digitigrade suit or one with a dropped crotch but the rest of the video was very helpful, especially the suggestion about using the scrap fabric and draping it over the dtd.
The piano is gone :C It's the only place we could put it after we moved, but I was the only one that could play it and I don't have the time anymore. It was given to the girl who babysat me a good 15 years ago or more. Her son is learning to play, which I think is really a nice place for it to go. However, it was my great grandmother's and I will miss it :(
I wonder what fur do you use? Is it Luxury Shaq, or is it another kind? I've recently made a fursuit, and I've got two more in the making but I'm a little green on what type of fur is best to use. I'm aware that a degree of that is what you prefer, but I've heard a few people say that Luxury Shaq is a bad kind to be using because apparently it's "messy" .-.
Kichida Maru not sure what you mean by messy ^^' all fur is messy. Especially if you have to shave it down. Gets everywhere. If you mean the appearance, that's an easy fix with brushing and shaving. You shave it to a desired length so it looks nice and even then you brush it constantly for upkeep.
I have no idea myself, I've just heard other suiters criticize it for being especially "messy". Personally I like it a lot, and yes. Burshing does the trick usually!
okay so I'm just making the legs because I'm actually doing a Satyr costume? is there a way to implement a belt, and could you possibly point me in the direction of some fur? Thanks!
It really depends on the design of the character and what features you want on your fursuit as well as what style (e.g. Realistic are generally the most expensive to make). Thus far my own suit has cost me over $500, coming close to $600 now since there's a few more things I need to get. But my suit is a very large detailed suit with a swinging tail, moving jaw, fan in the head, silicone paw pads/tongue- things like that up the price, the fur I used was also very expensive, the largest piece (2.5 yards) cost me almost $100 alone and that was with a big discount by being a frequent customer, and I got the same fur in 3 different colours as well as some regular shag fur for the characters hair and mane (the kind most fursuit makers use which is much cheaper, $30-$40 a yard depending on the fur length I think). Foam also generally costs about $40 (keep in mind I'm talking Australian dollars so there is some difference in the currency). So if you want to make one I suggest setting aside at least $300 but be prepared to spend more.
Judit colomé Welcome, and yeah thats a thing a few makers are doing now, helps a lot with how hot the suits get. Basically I just installed a small fan (the kind you'd find in computers) in the muzzle, it works on a simple circuit with a battery pack that holds two 9v batteries, connected to a small switch and a 12v regulator (since the fan works on 12v). The battery pack and regulator are hidden in the cheeks which i can get to from inside the suit head to replace the batteries and such, and the switch is hidden on the inside of the mouth. No wires are exposed either since when I lined the head I made a sort of 'pocket' inside the lining to protect them. It's pretty time consuming to do, but its well worth it with the amount of relief from the heat it provides, just need to remember to take some spare batteries to cons and such (though they actually do last quite a while).
I dont have a problem with all this. I just need a bunch of furry fabric. Everywhere I go I can only find a few squares of fabric, but I need enough to cover my body!
SuperMarioZack - SMZ No, you don't really need to have the pillows on, but a lot of the furry fandom prefers it that way. The types of suits that use the padding are called dijigrade, and the ones that don't are called plantigrade. Hope I helped!
Once, again.. anyone kno where i can get the foam and fur for my fuirsuit..? p.s: know anywhere i can get it Not online? also, if you know, what types of foam and fur, please, tell me, thanks!
Haha you said "don't sit on the floor. If you do sit on the floor, don't be an idiot and have horrible posture" my immediate reaction was like "oops." 😂 Also this one seems a lot more confusing than the first video 😟
ClassicCutie I'm 16 and I've hit all of my growth spurts already. Just ask your doctor, they will have a growth chart, my growth has been steady for awhile, he said I wouldn't have a secondary growth spurt. I'll only grow a teeny tiny bit more but not enough to grow out of a suit. You don't have to wait until your 18, just until you stop growing
Kloofsuits:*tapes dummy*
Me:*sticks tape to forehead *
Nah I've done that plenty of times too, friend...
I tend to hang tape from my chin and jaw.
I stick tape to my hat lmao XD
Lithium Wolfhusky I eat the tape
Lithium Wolfhusky I look at tape
i could totally see it coming together once the tape went on. you make it look so easy now i want to make a suit 😄
Bexs D that's how it was for me
Can you make a video on how to make digitigrade feet paws please?!?!😊
yees
This is a late reply but there's a fursuit maker with a series "good too know" and you can see her making digitigrade feet with the legs.
The channel name is "Sparky !"
My respects.
Of the many tutorials I've seen, yours are by far the best explained and easiest to follow.
Just curious, what do you do with the dummy while you're not working on it?? I can't imagine having a full length body just chilling in your living space is too good for your mental health in the middle of the night.
The closet I think if you have room
+KittyIvie I have a separate workshop room, it's just really small. So I leave it in there and shut the door haha! No strange animal men staring at me in the night c:

+Kloofsuits May you do a tutorial around making feet and hand paws?
Thank you so much for all your tutorials. They are by far the easiest to understand and follow along with. I've made 3 heads using your methods and I plan on using this tutorial for my first bodysuit. You're amazing!!
omg you're really generous for putting this out. Thank you! I have been studying your fur suit head tutorial and it came out much better the second time around for me :3

Yeah that's about how long it took me to start my first suit xD

Hi Kloofsuits! We really like your videos and they're a great help to us! If we may ask, where do you get commissions from? We have advertising in most places we can but we can't seem to get any takers. Any tips? Where are there a lot of fursuit lookers?
how thick would you say your foam was approximately? I think I'd prefer this type of padding vs the regular foam
This is awesome, may i ask how we can reach you for some inquiries?

This is super helpful for my suit! Thank you
Thank you for making this video. Very helpful.

It's too late Kloof I've been working on the floor with poor posture for years already!!
you may have a bit more room in your workshop if you didn't have the piano :p. jk your tutorials are pretty good tbh. i'm not planning on making a digitigrade suit or one with a dropped crotch but the rest of the video was very helpful, especially the suggestion about using the scrap fabric and draping it over the dtd.

How much did it cost to make all of this?
How much would you say materials cost over all to make a digi suit?
I was just watching part one when I got this notification lol
I wonder what fur do you use?
Is it Luxury Shaq, or is it another kind?

How do u make one without padding???
okay so I'm just making the legs because I'm actually doing a Satyr costume? is there a way to implement a belt, and could you possibly point me in the direction of some fur? Thanks!
I don't know about the belt but personally I buy shag fur from fabric.com
So AMAZING *^* ! How old are you ? :,)
I LOVE IT OMFG you are incredible a little question: how cost make your fursuit? i want to make one too but i dont know the cost

thank you so much but, another question... a fan in the head? how did you do that?

Nice. And hehe. Fur Elise. Nice choice., Fur Elise. Get it? Fur? Oh nevermind ;) P.S. Good to see you setting up a new site!
I'm thinking of making a suit. It would be cool to make one for a friend as a gift :33
What are they always looking on their phone?
I dont have a problem with all this. I just need a bunch of furry fabric. Everywhere I go I can only find a few squares of fabric, but I need enough to cover my body!
i love your cat
I actually really want to make a fur suit!
i never clicked on a video so fast.😝
Wheres pt 3 and 4?
love the shirt
I can't find part 3
Do we really need to put the pillows on the knees and stuff ?
SuperMarioZack - SMZ No, you don't really need to have the pillows on, but a lot of the furry fandom prefers it that way. The types of suits that use the padding are called dijigrade, and the ones that don't are called plantigrade. Hope I helped!
digitigrade* :)
Your digitigrade legs are goals. ;w;
how many yards of furr should one buy to make a standard size suit
Brielle Burkett maybe 3 or 4 yards should do
Once, again.. anyone kno where i can get the foam and fur for my fuirsuit..? p.s: know anywhere i can get it Not online? also, if you know, what types of foam and fur, please, tell me, thanks!
Michael's or any other craft store should sell them. The fur is probably luxury shag, don't know about the foam though.
What do you mean by the drop-crotch method?? Does it just lower that area a bit?
yes, this gives that area more room and looks more natural with digi legs. :)
The cat!😂😂
Haha you said "don't sit on the floor. If you do sit on the floor, don't be an idiot and have horrible posture" my immediate reaction was like "oops." 😂
Also this one seems a lot more confusing than the first video 😟
I really want to make a quad unicorn suit but I’m only twelve and don’t know how to sew that well and my parents don’t know I want to be a furry ywt
MMMM SO BOOTIFULL SCRIM
how do you know when you stop growing?
ClassicCutie usually about at 18-21 years old. Girls earlier than guys.
okie thank u :)
ClassicCutie it just depends wither or not you've gone through your growth spurts
It normally happens around your late teens or early twenties.
what do you use to stuff the duck tape dummy??
I thinks it's newspaper or magazines
Green Day shirt 👀
How many yards of fur do you usually order for one full fursuit?
He buys it
Or she idk
I wish there was copy & paste in real life, this would make things look much better and take less time :(
yes!
The cat was cute :3
Where do you get your fur?
He or she buys it
Is it weird that when I’m doing a sewing craft I just say “HOT GLUE IT ALL” and never touch the needle and thread
Same 😅
Cute cat lol 😂
Oh nvm
хей американцы вы можете прочитать это или вам слабо
nice :-)
How much is a commission?? (Average)
£1000-£2000
esprit Thank you
its ok!
meow (I'm talking to the cat, not you XD)
I feel bad for all the furries that don’t have anyone to help with the DTD honestly
I'd like a fursuit ! not a full just the paws and head! how much would a commission be?
Cloudy Hearts I would still be a lot plus its not a fursuit its a partial your asking for.
nice shirt
what do you use to stuff the duck tape dummy??
Newspapers or magazine
