Hamilton has the x44 extreme E racing team. I don’t think that has gained any popularity with F1 viewers. I think this is a positive move. Hamilton is not just one of the greatest drivers but also a fan of motorcycle racing. I’m looking forward to another race team owned by someone well known in racing.

​@@Incountry I disagree, you know why. Hamilton's wealth is more than enough to own an existing Independent Gp team, include the grid slot that he needs to pay every year. The conglomerate you are taking about is obviously a part of the business transaction his team will arrange in case they are really serious of their intention.
During the F1 weekend it was confirmed during the pre race press conference that it was true. Lewis has said that he is interested with the equity this venture will generate. Especially he knows that the sport will soon to be successful in the hands of Liberty Media. However, the question is, whether Gresini current owner Nadia Padovani willing to sell it. Or she just wanted to give Hamilton a percentage of the team. At the end she has still got the most of the stake.
That's why there was a photo on Instagram & Twitter of Gresini when all of the crew have photoshopped Lewis bread on their head.

​@@riggerz7899 I understand what you mean as a purist like you. But this is the right way to make the sport at the same level of NBA, ⚽, NFL, F1 & even 🎾. Don't you want to see influx of huge Sponsorships that the sport into have a tiny bit right now compare to those sports. If in case they become succesful in Liberty Media's era. Teams revenue will go up massively like the F1 teams ripping right now. That's why they are blocking Andretti to join the sport.
Most importantly the riders salary rise & finally the riders will received the deserving Salary they should have. At the moment if you some of the riders salary even the multiple Champions. Even a Rookie in NBA earned a lot better than them. Even those players who just seat on the bench earn better than them. Therefore they need this thing you don't want happen to become what it should be. Yes, you can call it sell out. But that is how it is in F1 & NFL. But in NBA, the sport aren't sell out. People just love it.
