  • Today we go into detail on the Bookmap MBO Bundle. This indicator package contains the SI indicator which pinpoints actual stop runs and iceberg orders. It also contains the liquidity tracker pro that allows you to track orders of a designated size. In other words, you can follow the big boys if you desire.

    MBO stands for Market By Order. It's a new data option provided by the CME exchange that is currently only available through Rithmic data feed.

    Great video and maybe Im the only one but I find the music VERY distracting. At times I feel like your voice is competing with the music even though the volume is low. You have such good information in your videos and you explain things so clearly that I don’t get bored. Adding the music doesn’t add value to the content or the video. The music takes away from you having my full attention because Im trying to listen to the music at the same time. Not being negative, just providing feedback. Thanks for all the great info!

    No doubt it is great analysis. Looks great though like in space. Prior to this video I never knew about Bookmap. Now it is crystal clear. I also observed that you comment on everyone's reply which is well appreciated. There are many ways to skin a cat. So this is one of the way. You pay what, double the regular data feed price , for Advanced MBO with package 12. Trader can catch a trend , with simple moving avg or Ichimouku or mixed with couple of leading and lagging indicator. But that's not all, Most want to squeeze the last profit or try to catch even a little smoke and that's where they loose or give up their profit. if you just take your goal profit which can be in the middle of the trend your risk is minimum. With so much liquidity in indices it is not hard to find that sweet spot during the day when someone is focused . Trading should not be very complicated. Most often traders clutter charts with tons of indicator and confuse themselves to lose money.

    Great video Douglas! Thank you for the great overview of MBO. I'm looking to upgrade my PC, then will be hopefully subscribing to the MBO bundle before the raise the price. Keep the vids coming, there is so little out there on Bookmap and I guess that is a good thing since if this proves to be a profitable edge, then the less that are using it, the better. As you mentioned, monthly subscription price alone will keep many away due to cost of entry.

    Good explanation although I am not sure how you use the Iceberg and stops to get in/out, as the meters show the figures after the fact or at least once they have printed. Are you doing the reverse of the direction of a stop run as you expect a reverse move following a stop run or is there more to it? In terms of Icebergs, I am not sure I get how you use that piece of info. I do it in the most simplistic way which is not to expect continuation of a move following a stop run as this is responsive rather than initiative, and if a large iceberg shows I use it as prices won't go any further as long as it is present and reloading. Useful-ish info, but not sure how that would constitute a strategy in terms of entries and exits.?

    • @douglasontrading8021
      @douglasontrading8021  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks for the comment. As with anything in trading, its all in context. No holy grails. Icebergs and Stops are very useful in entries and exits. When you see a big event happen (large iceberg or stop) especially when that big event happens in an area of interest like high/low or vwap etc, what you are looking for is a place to get in because now you are expecting a large reaction to the large event. You might get in early or late, or choose the wrong direction (thats trading) but you are putting yourself in a position, that if you choose correctly, you'll get a big win. Thus gaining the elusive larger winning trades than losing trades. That's a massive advantage.

    • @douglasontrading8021
      @douglasontrading8021  Рік тому +1

      They measure different things. MBO measures actual stop runs and iceberg orders. TTW has those options on the higher cost subscription but their bread and butter is the volume stops. Measuring a spike in CVD over a certain time period. Volume stops in my opinion are easy to make entries and exits with. Market conditions of course apply. In a heavy trending down market you might get lots of "buy" signals because the volume keeps spiking but you would get run over if you took those buys. One of the most useful tools available but nothing is magic.

      Settings for the MBO bundle: For Sub-Chart Stops and Icebergs, just use the default settings. Should be "Sliding", "One Minute".
      Find "Alignment" and check the Symmetric Stops and Symmetric Icebergs.
      For On-Chart indicator, Use 500 threshold for Stops and Icebergs.
      That's for ES. Other instruments like NQ would need like 100 threshold or treasuries are different for each treasury.

  • @virgiliochourio7405

    Hey Doug, I've been looking at getting the SI indicator bundle and have a few questions about it. First, does it matter what direction the Iceberg/Stop are heading in the Reset configuration? I.e. An Iceberg at 600 indicates there's 600 orders pushing the price up but an Iceberg at -600 indicates there's 600 order pushing the price down. Would that be a fair assessment to make? Also, if the example I gave earlier is how the indicator works, what about stops? Is 600 value for a stop indicating the price is getting pushed down? Or would it be -600 like the Iceberg? Thanks for reading and hopefully you can get back to me soon.

    • @douglasontrading8021
      @douglasontrading8021  3 роки тому

      You are correct but just think about it as orders filled instead of price pushed. On the indicator a stop above the zero line are sell stops. Sell stops are actually buy orders. (You have to buy to exit your sell position) And stops below the zero line are buy stops which are actually buy orders. Icebergs above zero line are buys and icebergs below are sells. The way I play it is to look for the big event. If price is moving up into a resistance zone and a big sell stop happens (above the zero line) it's possible that means business is finished and a big reversal to the down side is coming. It's also possible that business is not finished and price keeps moving up. So how does that help you if anything can happen? Well big events often the exact point a large move happens which can help you improve your risk by tightening your stop around that big event and at the same time help you shoot for a bigger target. I can't emphasize how big of an advantage that is. So you'll still guess wrong, still make dumb plays, but hopefully you are putting the odds in your favor like a casino does.
      I hope that helps. And if so, would you mind using my link so they know I sent you?bookmap.com/members/aff/go/sigalphwichita

    Douglas, how do you find out what is relative to the amount of iceberg orders? Like, you mentioned it might not be an anomaly for 500 iceberg orders. How do you define what would be worth paying attention to? and how do you link your funded account to Bookmap

    • @douglasontrading8021
      @douglasontrading8021  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Richard. Depends on the instrument but since I primarily trade ES we will talk about ES. It seems that anything over 1000 on iceberg is always big. But certain days there is little iceberg activity and 600 might be big for example. How you know is the relative size vs the rest of the day. Of course you would need at minimum 30 minutes after open to find out relative size for the day. Maybe 1 hour.
      Your funding broker will have instructions to set up with Bookmap if they support it.

On those days where price is one sided from the open I'm just wondering if there are clues that come from the Iceberg or Stops indicator that may incent you to jump into the deep end of the pool.

      Hello ham. I don’t trade the open. I often don’t look at the chart until 20 minutes after open so I can’t answer your question even though it’s a good question. The open is a bit chaotic and I’m already at the office of my real job so I pop in and trade when I can.

      @@douglasontrading8021 I gathered as much from your videos but I also assume that you do a post mortem analysis of the market every day. I was just wondering if there is any correlation that you noticed between moves that break out to one side from the open and the MBO bundle. Personally, I get frustrated when I'm waiting for the market to develop a signal and it just moved right from the get go and I missed the whole thing.

      @@douglasontrading8021 Also, I want to compliment you on the interpretation of the Iceberg indicator in the Big Banks Exposed video. I think its your most compelling post so far. The visualization of divergence between price and what the Icebergs were doing were really clear from the indicator. Can you tell me if this clear indication is a function of not plotting the Stops on same graph? I've watched other videos of yours when both lines are plotted and the Icebergs don't seem nearly as informative (more difficult to read the big players intentions).

      @@muratnuri2 I feel you. It’s tempting to trade early and be done with it. Waiting for the market to show me something is difficult but greatly improves my profits.

      @@muratnuri2 you might be seeing two different settings. The big banks video is a cumulative setting on icebergs. Many of my other videos are reset setting. Meaning it only shows you the iceberg spike when it happens then resets to zero. Not cumulative. Reset helps pinpoint exact entries. I’ve been using it more lately. Along with Stops on reset.

    The longer you use BM+Rithmic, the more you will realize what a BS it is in reality! I stoped using it long time ago. You see things which are not there in reality. Moreover, it is unstable as hell. No trading edge with that... ;-) But hey... at least it is expensive 🤣

    • @douglasontrading8021
      @douglasontrading8021  3 роки тому

      It certainly is expensive. But you are mistaken. You in fact only see what’s actually there. Unlike a candlestick chart. If you assume the market must react the way you want to what you think you see, you’ll have a real bad time.

      @@douglasontrading8021 You completely missunderstood me. I know excactly what I am saying. Do you really think you can see real action in this little fucking software while the big institutions invest multi millions in algos to hide/fake their real intentions? Do you really think you can see Icebergs, Spoofing and Layering in BOOKMAP? :-D The orderbook is completely RIGGED. The idea of watching it is old. Did work until 10 years ago. Nowadays, it does not. But I know.. it looks cool, it is different, and the retailers think they have the holy grail now. LOL ;-)
