Watch 45:00 minute mark he mentioned the extreme upside area of the profile where activity dried up. He was able to short it and ride it down to value. That's what the profile does. It kind of shows you what time frame is in play at a given time.
Market profile is indeed important but I wouldn't say it is more important than the volume profile. Volume moves price and price moves in time. Any order flow driven market is a two way auction and it is volume that ultimately confirms or negates the validity of a price move.
i absolutely love how hoag has his CTS T4 market profile setup. could someone tell me how much it would cost just for a SIM account like that? and additionally, how I could set it up similar to Hoag's? any help would be MUCH appreciated! thank you
Jim dalton is a popular figure when talking about Market profile. But does anyone remember Peter Steidlemayer? In one of Dalton’s interviews he explains how they were both working on market profile separately and unknowingly during the same period. However, Steidlemayer came out with literature on MP first, then Dalton later.
