Thank you! Inffi's run is awesome! I couldn't have beaten his time without the new strats people found after his run. This game is really hard to learn to speedrun.
Is there a way to fix the weird vertical sensitivity on this version (SDL1), or is it just something you have to get used to? This page says to change "MouseScaleX" to 4 and "MouseScaleY" to 2 in sw-redux.cfg, but I couldn't find either of those things: www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Shadow_Warrior_Classic_Redux#Mouse_look_is_incredibly_wonky
Hey! I think its kinda both. You can set it up you like but the mouse movement is janky too and you have to get used to it. I just checked my cfg and I have this: "MouseScaleX = 12 MouseScaleY = 5" (in sw-redux.cfg file, main folder). I use the gog version, but it think its the same with steam. I have both and I couldn't feel any difference. Hope this helps! Btw, this version is weird af and crashes a lot :D
@@dauswectus The MouseScale options definitely aren't in the file for me. I'm using the steam version. Maybe they're only on the gog version. What were those options under([Setup], [Controls], etc.)?
@@atddproof4879 "steamapps\common\Shadow Warrior Classic\gameroot\sw-redux.cfg" Should be there (Just realised, Not sure about SDL1 though, I felt the mousemovement way too weird there.)
@@dauswectus I set the game to not use the beta, then uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now the MouseScale options are in the file when playing on the current version, but not when playing on SDL1. But for some reason it seems like uninstalling and reinstalling somehow improved the mouse controls. But it's still pretty bad.
@@dauswectus On the GOG version, did you need to do anything to get SR50 to work? I tried all three patches, and none of them work, I just spin around in circles.
Also, is the teleporter behind this wall in level 5 already known about? ua-cam.com/video/JKNoFqMUCFg/v-deo.html EDIT: I've found several of these by messing around with noclip, so I'm guessing they're already known about. There are more in level 4, for example (one behind the locked door in the starting area, another near the carpet, another in a tree which leads to the normal teleportation room).
I think the speedrun rules are trash... I think glitching the game its lame for himself, but save/load allowed? come on... also, why on clasic redux? why not on dosbox? The original software of the game (This is not hate for dauswectus, he is very skillfull, its just an opinion of the rules)
Hey! I totally understand your point, but speedrunning is about beating the game as soon as possible with techniques HUMANLY possible. Although, this game is possible to beat under 7 minutes with a glitch called sumo save load glitch, which make you think this is not really a world record, but its really breaks the game too much that you cant really enjoy. I believe speedrunning is more like enjoying yourself playing a game while achieving something like beating the game as soon as possible. For the version debate, i would like to run the dos version too, but on modern architecture and expectations its not gonna be as fun as source ports which are made for them. (Redux version sucks ass, crashes alot, but, its still runs better on modern pcs than dos version). For the save/loading i can only say the same, this is mostly about enjoying yourself. Without it would be way too annoying to play (even with it actually). I really appreciate your comment about it and i'm open to discuss this topic.
@@dauswectus Yeah... that's my point... some glitches feels like you are not playing the game anymore, Im not saying its easy to do or something else, its just... change so much the game. Well, i dont know how much better is redux over dos, its more a esthetic OPINION. I dont like redux, but possibly is better on every way. For the save/load topic, I desagree, totally... making a run without load and succes its more skillfull that making with load. A think that I like about speedruns its the perfection and precision, and save/load gives you the chance to "repair" mistakes. I really, really appreciate your attitude, you dont took it personal, and its not, because its just an opinion of the rules, anyways... thx. Im glad to for seeing buddys that still like shadow warrior 1997 like me. Im also tryng a "not hit run" (complete the game without taking any damage) on stream as well. Anyways, thx again for the friendly discuss. P.D: my english sucks because im chilean lol, here we speak spanish.
Holy... great run, man.
Also I love that UA-cam categorized this game as Duke Nukem 3D. lol
Wow, I never thought anyone would beat Inffi's run. Nice job!

you just suck
This and Blood were my favorite DOS based shooters for many years.
if so there's an remastered classic redux version on steam
You're missing a whole episode. Impressive speedrun it was really cool seeing the glitches and skill

Any chance the grenade launcher climbing trick still works in Redux or am I just bad at doing it? I get the feeling it's the latter, but I'm not sure.
Yes. This run was on redux too. I believe it can be done on any port. Its really hard to get used to.
@@dauswectus Thanks. I had a feeling that was it. Just need to practice until I can do it without just blowing myself up.
