Homemade Brine boom sprayer with sidewalk hose

I put this video out there to help others that may want to build their own brine sprayer. We used a 275 gallon IBC tote connected to a 5.5gpm 12v pump. We powered the pump using a quick connect harness with a toggle switch that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug. Any hoses on the intake side of the pump need to be suction hoses and the hoses on the discharge side of the pump should be braided to prevent kinked hoses. We used a higher quality 2" ball valve at the tote connection as an emergency shutoff before the pump as well as 3/4" ball valves after the pump to controll flow the the boom and the sidewalk hose sprayer. We cut a piece of 2" tubular steel to fit into our tow hitch receiver and welded 1.5" angle iron across to fabricate a boom. we used 1" pvc pipe and drilled 1/8" holes every few inches across the bottom.
I’m going to make a new video in the next few weeks. Made major upgrades- went to camion boom with boom less side sprayers, upgraded the pump to a 1” gas pump and the 3 booms are all controlled by solenoid valves from the cab.
Yeah show us that. I was going to say it would be good to hook up 12v gate valves with switch in the cab so that you don’t need to walk out and/or waste product

Hello! Great video and great set up. Working on my own right now. How do you shut it on and off? Do you have a toggle wired into the cab? And what route did you take to get the pump connected to the battery?
Toggle switch on the wire plugged right into the cigarette lighter- zero modification to the truck that way

Hello, really nice video. Thanks for making it. Can you tell me how many gpm your 12v pump puts out? Have you found it to be enough power or would you prefer a more powerful gas pump? Thanks again.
You’d definitely get pressure with a gas pump and we’re probably going to experiment with that but for the size of the lots we have this worked perfectly. I eventually upgraded the boom to a camion spray boom with nozzles for this upcoming season but still running the pump in the video and the same tank and lines.

We buy brine premixed but what info are you looking for? Ingredients and mixture percentages?
