I hate how people are like "it looks like shit but I love Jack Black's Steve". Buddy its just Jack Black saying "Im Steve", what do you mean you love his Steve. I love Jack Black but cmon. I think the film visually looks beautiful, but it looks too animated and saturated for it to be a live action hybrid. Why not use CG main characters that match this aesthetic.

My seven year old is obsessed with this trailer, but honestly if they’d gone the fully animated route, I think he’d have been equally as interested.
The game has no narrative, but what the player gives it. I think this is going to be a miss for so many people because it’s not “their” Minecraft, but for a kid who wants anything Minecraft related this will hit.
Whoever styled Jason Momoa's hair should be in jail. Normally I'm jealous of his hair, so what they did to him was a crime!

Steve can punch through trees and is supposed to be over six feet tall. The Rock would have been a better choice than Jack Black. John Cena makes the most sense tbh.

Missed opportunity to educate not player into MC's lore and gameplay, could have been a full gorgeous 90 min trailer, sprawling an epic adventure and take advantage of all the skins as cast of characters.

People hated on the original Sonic movie design and the studio fixed it. Perhaps they can replace the live actors with cgi versions. It's all green screen anyways.
Remember that ORIGINAL Mario Bros movie, the live action one from the 90s. Yeah….this could also be that for Minecraft. It took nearly a decade for them to touch that property again after that disaster and just go fully animated.

I usually love Jack Black in certain roles, but I’m still confused as to why he’s chosen to be Steve?
I once made a joke earlier about how “Oh, you could cast Dylan O’Brien to be Steve cause of his time in Mazerunner haha”
But then when I think about it…He could. He would look closer to Steve than Jack Black would. I’ve seen pictures of him wear teal and grey t-shirts, and it looks kind of good in a wierd way??

Video game to movie is a tough one to begin with so unless it’s a passion project and they REALLY love the game and the actors do too you might get a hit. Silent hill is one I think of that was decent not awesome but decent. Some games just don’t need to be movies Also for the cash grabs. Love your videos 😊

The Ender Dragon is a female. So I’m not sure if Jack can voice the Ender Dragon. Since the Dragon is a woman. Also dragons don’t talk normally.

This couldve been fully animated i dont play much minecraft but its definitely weird to have real actors "intetact" with cgi, also that jason mamoa is realistic because thats how female played characters look behind the screen xD

I’m not watching a movie because of Jack Black. This trailer looks dumb af. Have they not learned to not mix up full CGI with actual humans? And Super Mario has been killing it in Netflix! It’s always in the Top 10. So they could have easily made this into full animation

I agree. The animations look great until you see the real people in them; then it just looks cheap. I don’t really care for Jack Black as Steve. Nothing against Jack, just don’t think he fits the part. But, who knows. In all honesty, I don’t really care. I’m still waiting for a game to film adaptation that doesn’t suck. Well, The Last of Us was pretty good. And Borderlands. Just kidding. Borderlands definitely should have been an animated film.
The first line is cussing. No parent can take their kid to see this. It's not child appropriate. My son is 7, " What the hell" is cussing.
