If you use Stop Motion Studio Pro (available on iOS, Android, PC, and Mac), you would use it to take a picture of the stage area/background first (no figures in the scene). Just keep that as your first frame on the timeline and then animate your project using the exact same background/stage as the first frame. For example, your first frame is the empty soccer field and the second frame is the kicker on the soccer field, held up by a rig. When you're ready to edit the scene, put the first frame in front of any frame that needs a rig removed. Select the frame and use the "erase" function. You can use your finger or a stylus to "paint over" the rig, making it disappear.
