How a CS:GO Combat Surfer Became Valorant's Original Battle Sage

- Plenty of games feature classes or roles that are pretty much essential if you want to win. Rockstar roles such as Duelists, AD Carries, DPS players, and AWPers often steal the thunder because of their flashy frags and natural inclination towards embracing the spotlight.
Sure, there are certain characters that have pop off potential despite being designed for more selfless players, but the primary goal of any support player worth their salt is to keep their teammates alive - which, let’s be honest, isn’t exactly the sexiest job.
While other players get to clap cheeks on the frontline, supports often find themselves sitting on the fringes of the action, not getting the credit that they deserve.
But in Valorant specifically, one agent has won the hearts of every duelist player in the entire community, for running around and saving their bacon since the early days of the game’s development. Of course, I’m talking about Sage.
Mommy Sage has been tending to her children for the past two years, but not too long after the game’s release, one player made it his mission to eliminate all the stereotypes associated with the agent.
Meet William “Grim” Schreiner, Valorant’s first true Battle Sage. A content creator who has built an entire brand based around borderline game breaking boosts.

When I was a little critter, CS:S was the best thing next to ice cream but when I was introduced to combat surfing, everything changed. Definitely miss the old days :D
My biggest flex of all time is that I once beat this man as a Bronze when I was an absolute fanboy and a half of him. I never made it into the video but my friend did ;-;

Just based of the type of player he is, I always assumed Grim was an ass, but he's so wholesome i love him so much
When I first watched grim I was like "Yo, this guy's movement, especially his strafing reminds me of a bhopper or surfer." and as someone who plays combat surf. I was surprised that he played that. Because combat surfing isnt really well known. Its been swept under the rug because of Bhop and Surf being massive in csgo
It's rare to see this example, I think it's amazing to see what he has done.

I never liked Sage on Valorant's early months. But when I watched Grim's Videos, I've become a Sage main for more than a year now and grew as a sage content creator on tiktok. All the best to daddy Grim! The best sage main in the world!

As a person with 5,000 hours in surf and about 7,000 in bhop. Its nice to see a brother bring that skillset to the new games.
I always temptated to play Sage and try those "stupid" walls. But my temperament is not that good to play an agent with healing and resurrecting abilites for teammates.

Finally, Grim featured been waiting for this since forever. His name being immortalized for weird sage walls.
Although i highly appreciate all the work Grim had put into figuring out all these insane walls, it also puts a heavy weight onto all Sage mains in the game. I personally love playing Sage as a support, i'm not build being a frontline Battlesage and that's fine for me. But when you get ask in Agent Select if you're a Sage main and you answer "Yes", then your mates expect (most of the time) that you're able to perform these insane walls and plays as well.

im fairly new to valorant (almost 2mos) and i find sage rlly fun to use. but im stuck in a stereotype where "sage is for planting". but not all duelist even knows how to entry. im trying out grim walls now cos most of the time when i topfrag someone else is willing to take the spike and help me do things.

Except valorant doesn't have any "support" characters. All characters have pop off potential to the point where nearly all can entry into site.
