Hello my friend! I'm glad you liked this tour of the museum, I hope you found it more enjoyable than in the textbooks 😄 Thank you very much for your comment, your visit is always a pleasure. Have a great day!
The birds' chirps are so beautiful. The drone video is amazing. The seasonal nature and scenery are soothing. It makes me feel happy. The video quality is high. Thank you for sharing.👍👍☺🌺💛
Hola. I didn't know whether or not you would have a video this week, since you usually post a preview around Friday, but I just happened to notice it was up on Sunday night. I actually watched it late last night (Sunday), but I was a bit sleepy, so waited until today to write a comment. Actually, when I didn't see a video this week, I wondered if maybe you were off to the Costa Blanca and too busy to post a new one so soon. 😅 First off, the way you recorded this video was really good. I liked how you went through the entire building systematically, and the photography was consistent throughout the whole tour. I really got the sense that I saw the whole museum, and I definitely would want to visit if I were ever in Merida. And the music that accompanied the video was very well chosen. It really worked well with the video. It had a very 'polished' look to it. As for the architect who designed the building - wow, I can see why he is renowned. I can't say I'm any expert on Roman Civilization, but that building seems like such a perfect fit for its purpose. What a beautiful homage to the Roman Empire in Spain. The arches inside the building are beautiful, but the bricks that are used throughout the building are amazing. Actually, I'm a little unsure to be honest if it is even brick, since I see much more stone work in Spain than brick. But the color makes me think of some type of clay brick or something. I think I've said a few times how much I like those big, golden stones/rocks that so many of the old buildings are made of, and how beautiful they look in the late afternoon sun. Whatever the material used in this museum, it was absolutely beautiful. The huge column as you first walk in is so impressive! Seeing those columns outside is good, but when you see it inside the building, right up close, you can really get an idea of the massive size and height of them. And it makes you wonder how they ever built those columns with the tools they had to work with. The number of sculptures inside that museum is incredible. They sure did love their art, and I guess we're lucky that so much of it is so well preserved. It's really impressive how those artists could take a hard piece of rock and chisel it into the light, elegant, flowing robes that the ancients wore. Very enjoyable video! Hope your summer is off to a great start.
Hola! You are completely right 😂 your assumption is correct. Although this last week I have not left Salamanca, I have been a little busy to upload a new tour, right now I am on my way to Costa Blanca, although I have dedicated a few days to visit some new destinations, so I'm still quite busy but on this occasion, going from one place to another 😄 I hope you don't mind if I respond your message without haste and properly in a couple of days, when I am installed in my home. See you!
Hola de nuevo! I'm finally on the Costa Blanca ✌ after several days visiting a couple of cities (I'm going to keep them unknown to give it more excitement 😄) whose walking tours I will upload these weeks. Now that I am peacefully settled in my home I can answer you... I hope you still remember the tour 😄 I also take this opportunity to congratulate you (a couple of weeks late 😄) on the victory of the Boston Celtics, I remember you told me that you were a great sports fan. I think I already told you too, the NBA is by far the most followed American regular league in Spain, ahead of MLB and NFL, in fact, it is not unusual to see people wearing Boston Celtics t-shirts walking down the street in Spain. Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the way I edited this tour, I wanted to make it a little different from the usual tours so that it would be more dynamic. I also included a musical background for that reason. I chose one that I thought didn't have a copyright, but it turns out that it does. So I won't be able to monetize this tour and become a millionaire as I had planned 😆 The architect who designed the museum, Rafael Moneo, is one of the most prestigious Spanish architects today. He has also designed several buildings in the United States, such as the Los Angeles Cathedral. Personally, his work produces me disparity of opinions, some of his works I really like, like this museum, and others seem more bland to me. Although natural light is always a very important element in the interiors of the buildings he designs. I agree with your opinion, I think this building is perfect to house a museum of Roman art. The arches you mention are a tribute to Trajan's arch that appears on my tour of Merida (they are the same height). You are correct, the building is built of brick, in fact, most of this architect's buildings are built with this material. In this case, the use of brick combines perfectly with the marble of the sculptures and other pieces. You're right again, that column in the main hallway is one of the things that caught my attention the most when I entered, as you say, it looks huge. It belonged to the temple of Diana, which I also showed on my tour of Merida. The trick they used to build these columns is that they made them in parts and then fitted them one on top of the other. Yeah, the number of sculptures is enormous (at that time they were expanding the museum to exhibit more pieces), so unfortunately I could not focus too much on any sculpture, only filming them for a few seconds. All these pieces are those that have been found over the years buried in the city, I suppose more will appear in the future. Roman sculpture along with Greek sculpture are my favorite because of what you mentioned, they had great skill in creating amazing faces, bodies and clothing. Thank you! I also hope you have a great start to the summer. I'm looking forward to hearing how you're doing in Boston and hearing about your future getaways to Cape Cod. See you. Take care!
@@WalkingSpain Yeah, the Celtics had a big victory parade last week, although I didn't see it. Surprised to hear that they are so popular in Spain. Glad to hear you're finally in the Costa Blanca. Looking forward to the new videos. 👍 Too bad about the music copyright. Hope you didn't already spend that million dollars. 😂 Take care.
Yes, this museum is the most important in Spain related to Roman art and is highly visited by both local and international tourists. Fortunately, I visited on a Tuesday and there were few people so I was able to film comfortably. Thank you very much for your visit my friend!😊
