VoicePlay are in a league of their own; they can't be compared to any other a capella group. The range of genres they cover is exceptional, from Disney to Rock and everything in between. There's even been orchestral music and rap. And the arrangements are second to none. And when you realise they do it all, from singing, filming and editing to creating the sets, lighting and backgrounds, you just have to marvel at their skill sets.
Enjoying your discovery of Voiceplay. You never know what they will do next, make you laugh till you cry , break your heart or even just sit there in awe . They never disappoint and neither have your reactions.
The violin that Violayne plays in the videos actually doesn’t sound too good. He has a concert quality one he plays for the tracks and just films with that one. It was actually him throwing the violin off stage to Tony and then reversed in editing because they couldn’t make it work as smooth the other way. He also plays in Warriors (Jnone also plays in that one) and in The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Loved your intro to VioLayne! :) He doesn't bring it out a lot, but he's a great player with the violin. Thanks for another fun reaction. And yes, they have such a wide category and varied compositions that there is something for everyone, but usually you like it all.
The behind the scenes video for this is one of my faves. Layne had….issues….with catching that violin. The one used here is a cheap prop, which is a good thing because they must have tossed that thing to Layne 50 times….and if they tossed in 50 times, he missed it at least 40. Apparently there’s a reason he went into music and not sports. 😝 He’d catch the violin but not the bow, then the bow but not the violin, miss them both, and when he did manage to grab them both, they were upside down and backwards so there was no smooth way to get them into playing positions. The smooth catch you see in this video is a lie. They gave up on him catching anything, filmed him tossing them and then reversed the recording. The behind the scenes videos are worth the cost of the patreon all by themselves. May I recommend you add “In The Hall of the Mountain King” to your list? It’s a classical piece, but you’ll know it. It’s one of those tunes used in hundreds of cartoons. No lyrics at all, they tell a full story with costumes and acting. Also they have an amazing soprano guest star.
@@RandumbTom Also in the bts: why it was a good thing for Cesar they did some practice runs with a slab of styrofoam before they started tossing the actual instrument around 😆
This is magical. You probably meant Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) here and not Halo. A couple of months back J None did an original song/solo that is his. Look under J None's Am I Here. I hadn't considered "intoxicating" before but you are so right.
Is this your first video with VioLayne? He shows up in a few videos. He never fails to delight with that electric violin! You should check out "Warriors," it's an older one (Earl was still in the group, pre-Cesar) and not only does it have VioLayne, it has an extra little surprise too! Watch it closely!
You don't need to apologize for interrupting the song. It's a reaction, pausing it is better than talking over it. Also, you really should branch out to my other favorite a capella group, Home Free and their song A Man of Constant Sorrow!
@@RandumbTom Sweet! It's excellent! And their guest, Elizabeth Garazzo has an amazing voice! Voiceplay always knows just who to have as their guest, though sometimes Fate plays a hand too.

Thank you! It's been quite the journey.
Geoffs' arrangement. Never say that it can't be done Acapella.

Yeah, those skeletonized violins don't have the greatest sound to them. I use one from time-to-time but not as good as my classic violin, for sure.
It didnt get reversed, Layne caught it
Oi! Spoilers! He could have been surprised by J. None playing!🙃

The voice is the most beautiful musical instrument! And we're got five top-tier ones with our guys! I DO listen to them for hours! Every single night!
Same, it's impossible for me not binge the same songs.
My absolute favourite....!🌹🕊
Most folks, "No way you can do a cappella Metallica".
Geoff, "Hold my coffee".
🤣🤣🤣🤣Right!

They didn't film anything backwards, he did actually catch it in the end
@@huldradraco I’ll have to go watch it again : I swear I remember him being like “I’ll just toss it and we’ll edit”
@@Gael4ce he did say that at one point, but he did catch it in the end. you can see it at 9:43 in the bts.
I will absolutely check it out. I can't wait to join soon. I'm missing out lol

Great reaction. We are enjoying the watching you learn about the guys. 😉 Also i second In the hall of the mountain King.
And "I See A Bad Moon Rising..." Cute intro! An old fave!
Wow.
That says it all.
One of my all time favorites!! I absolutely LOVE this song. They truly did a beautiful job with this song. I’m so glad you picked this one 💛💛
One of my new favorites now! Turning Metallica into acapella and it worked flawlessly.

You are starting to sound more confident! Good job!
Thank you!
Speaking of Voiceplay not needing lyrics...I'd like to strongly recommend "The Hall Of The Mountain King!"
That's is next, I'm so ready!
