I just had to register a new beneficiary then I did a transfer. You receive a message that the transaction has failed but actually not. The customer service people there explained me the whole process and assisted me to set up the payments, very fast and simple. All happened online. Now I just need to do a click or two and the payment is done. Kudos standard chartered bank! Kudos to you Agatha for informing.

I want to add DTB as another bank that you can do your RTGS to CBK successfully from diaspora. I had to fill a swift form for RTGS entry. Then forwarded the form as a pdf via a diaspora manager. I had initially tried completing the process online but I didn't want to risk it. The customer service also kept demanding for a CBK account number. I spent 2hr trying to make them understand that they only needed my reference number and CSD account number. When I emailed the diaspora manager, she completed the process in 10min. So there's hope for us in the diaspora for this process

@@TheWealthTribe I almost gave up. it was hard. i made international calls to get to the customer service who then had to seek advice from their colleagues who didn't know what to do. I then called CBK customer service who gave me step by step information to give to the bank customer service and they STILL didn't know what to do. They were stuck on the issue of account number detail. so i gave up dealing with them. then i decided to call the DTB manager on Whatsapp who then helped. I did learn from the CBK rep that banks have had the training in their head quarters. but whether they have trained their employees, that is another issue. so i would suggest not dealing with customer service directly and let their managers direct them on what to do. In the future, i will not deal with customer service. it's a waste of time and money. Thank you Agatha for your video that just introduced me to the Dhow. I would never have had the chance to open a CSD account. I wasn't sure how to find out if the process worked but i did receive an email today and the Dhow portfolio reflected it as well. If this info helps someone, then i am glad to have paid it forward.

Specifically, I need guidance on what to input for both my reference and beneficiary reference. In an email from dhowcsd, I have a bid number, ISIN, and payment reference number. I'm confused about which one serves as my reference and which one is for the beneficiary.

I am currently bidding for IFB1/2024/8.5 and I want to get the highest yield. To ensure this, I have submitted 3 different yield bids differing by 5%. To make sure I will not miss the allocation, I also intend to submit non-competitive bid. Note that it is the same pot of money and I do not have extra amounts set aside for each bid. Is there a danger in doing this? Can I be locked out of the system, for instance, if 2 of my bids are successful - let us say the non-competitive and one of the competitives and I can only fulfil one? I hope my query is clear enough.
2024 FEB……phased out the ref number so they require a PAY KEY!!!!!! So far they are sending via text so verify your phone….. am awaiting my email nothing yet….
Hello i have 2qns: 1. on the transaction tab my auction payment amount is different from cash payment. I placed a bid but the amount i am to pay is less. Even when i sent details to my bank to send the payment, and i gave them the face value the amount deducted is less (it is reading the cash amount on the app) 2. My account was debited on Thursday, does it mean on Monday is when my portfolio will update? It is reading 0 and my transactions tab is saying pending transaction.

You have to fill and submit the rtgs form in person. Alternatively, you can authorize them to do those kinds of transactions on your behalf, but this also needs you to submit some forms in person. Bottomline is, if you are in the diaspora, you cannot make this transaction until you go back to kenya and authorize equity to be transacting on your behalf.
Today 1/12/23 I visited ncba Mrg but they can't assist me pay for treasury bills. Am disappointed . Asking for cbk account number, branch...,IBAN number....so much

I did mine with NCBA. Only sent a secure email. They requested for the transaction number and amount to send to CBK.

Hi Agatha. Thanks for the info. I did place a bond bid of 200k. I ticked non-competetive in Dhow. CBK then asked me to pay 180k. Why would this be?
I believe you pay less coz thats your interest payment upfront but when it matures youll receive the full 200k - i stand corrected

Just bid non competitive once you're sure to get.

It costs about 600bob for the RTGS transaction. You can no longer make direct deposit at CBK so it's a cost we'll have to bare moving forward
