99.9% of the people who annoy you in the woods are locals who think they own the place. First question they ask ''why are you here?'' I grew up in this kind of place. annoying.
Where I live we don't have any big cats (just the lynx and they're not that big and extreeemely shy) - the cougar video really scared me. Beautiful animal but those pounces... holy moley.
The "eerie laughter" is a classic coyote call and, yes, they CAN be loud, very loud. I've raised sheep a very long time and have heard my share of coyotes up close and all too personal.
Had a coyote pull that right outside my door to the back yard which is in the room where I sleep. I literally almost shit my pants and thought I woke up in hell with screaming demons. 😅
The scariest thing about these people knocking on cars in a dark forest at night is that we never see them. I can't even imagine what these strangers would look like. And it's implied that there's weirdos roaming around the wilderness in the dark out there right now. Soooo creepy.
There are many things to do in a dark forest at night. They don't look strange, just normal people roaming around the wilderness in the dark. Sometimes it is fun to prank someone sleeping in a car.
The kid mountain biking handled that bear situation so well! I was practically cheering for him when he realized he could scare it away with the noise from his bike! Well done man!
Both the people in the bear/cougar incident handled it very well and their ability to stay calm while being pursuited by dangerous wild animals is admirable
The guy did not handle the cougar well, and he was quite close to getting attacked. You're supposed to jump, shout, throw stones, and hold your ground when encountering a cougar. The act of trying to escape, even by walking, emboldens the cougar, which can result in attacks. It wasn't until he finally decided to throw a rock that the cougar ran off, but he could have done that much sooner.

The woman in the van saying hello to whoever was outside is like an invitation to come in. They hear a woman alone, yeah they'll definitely be back. I think if you are going to do things like this, you have to prepare for the unexpected...because that's what usually shows up to your home or vehicle in the middle of the night.
Yes, exactly! Do NOT act scared either, it makes you vulnerable. Instead, act crazy. Seriously, even criminals do not want to deal with a crazy person.
She didnt seem very intelligent tbh. Woman alone sleeps constant alone in remote areas - no firearm. Doesn't drive away from the spot. No satellite phone/ didnt call for help/ filmed for blog clout.
Assuming that video was real, the woman is extremely lucky the guy didn’t try to bash his way into her vehicle. She makes it relatively obvious that she doesn’t want to drive away for whatever reason, and she also made it pretty obvious she was alone. That right there seems like a perfect target. Bash out the driver’s-side window so she’d have to come towards you to start the vehicle and drive away, then unlock the door and let yourself in. The fact that she just sat there waiting for something to happen shows that she’s either very stupid, or the video was staged.
The Eerie laughter just made me chuckle. I suppose not everyone has lived in Yellowstone or northern USA, but I immediately recognized that call as a coyote. Never underestimate how far sound can travel at night - including your own noise if you think you're being quiet.
hell i live in new jersey and i know that cackle. people are horrified of coyotes here like they are a literal gang. they are skinny dogs and terrified of anything that moves.
i think this might be a regional thing. or maybe an age thing? i've heard older aged teachers i've had in the past say "hearing footprints" but i've also moved a lot around America and i've heard it certain places but not others. could also be both lmao
The “eerie laughter” is actually a pack of coyotes communicating with each other. That particular sound is a location call letting other members know where they each are & usually to alert each other of food. I live in a rural area in Northeastern Kentucky and coyotes are very common here.
I doubt coyotes laugh like crazy maniacs lol, those laughs sound similar to one of the deformed cannibals brothers from the movie Wrong Turn the ugly mf with long hair carrying a bow 😬 ironically it’s in the woods as well
Mad respect for the first kid on handling the situation. This kid not only kept calm, but he also manage to do a Vlog about his experience while the crazy person was outside. Now that’s takes guts! 👏 👏 👏

Why are you answering? When you’re alone in a vehicle please don’t be ignorant. Don’t say anything honk your horn or tell him you have a gun don’t talk to them.
People block roads/follow out. They could try and run you off the road. Driving away isnt always feasible in the dark either. Hard to see, hard to maneuver, might need to drive slow etc.
The first person handled it super well, and the woman who heard the "footprints" handled it very badly. Announcing yourself like that is practically you making yourself a target, especially if you're alone at night. She was extremely lucky the guy didn't decide to do anything bad.
They both handled it bad. Why would you remain in that spot just waiting for the intruders to come back? (which they did). What if they came back with tools to open the car or smash the windows? They're in a mobile vehicle ffs
It can go either way really.. you announce yourself and they leave because they know someone's in the car or you don't announce yourself so then someone thinks it's okay to break in
Not knowing the intentions of the person I would prob stay silent. Since I'm a woman, I'd be scared once they heard my voice they would want me instead of breaking into the car for valuables 😅
The car one was creepy, but the cougar and bear ones were really scary. Against those animals, humans are outmatched. The guy with the bear was smart by making himself look larger though. I'd imagine in a bear's mind, it looked similar to how bears stand up to make themselves look larger. Edit: I like how he noticed him putting the bike down startled the bear, and did it again with more force, which made it begin to retreat.
I have a friend who is a forest ranger and he says black bears are basically harmless. I imagine that is hard to believe when you're alone with one though.
The “laughing” in the woods is a coyote. I’ve heard this noise on several occasions. It is a bit unsettling at first, but it’s what they do to locate each other.
@urusovite8212 really? That actually happened to my mom when she was a kid in SE TX. She heard what she thought was a woman screaming outside of her house. She went outside, looked around and didn't see anyone. She heard the scream again, this time from above her. It was a panther up in the trees right above her head. 😯
The woman in the car was annoying. "I don't feel safe" proceeds to just record herself talking into a camera instead of calling the cops or driving away even though they had appeared 3 times. Stupid horror movie decision making
I’m a deer hunter and often go out in the woods hours before sunrise. Don’t care who disagrees, it never gets less creepy. Animals are one thing. You never know when you’re going to walk up on a two legged predator
Good lordy, I'd be crazy to sleep alone in a car in the woods at night as a girl but to actually SPEAK to a strange man knocking on my door from the outside would be INSANE.

I've spent a lot of my life camping including living in the woods in the rockies for about 6 months a few years ago. By far the scariest thing to encounter out in the wilderness is people. We never had an issue with the wildlife.
At least this guy was smart enough to handle situation correctly. Do not run and do not turn your back to it. Just back up slowly and pray to Satan it loses interest
With the cougar situation, it could have easily attacked him at any point even though he was moving away slowly. Since there was a cub around, I have a feeling it was just trying to make sure he wasn't going to stay around his territory. Those lunges were definitely held back more and it was being very cautious and almost fearful. I'm glad both he and the cougar got away from each other safely. I think it was just a protective mama.
Yeah except cougars kill people on a regular basis. If it felt it could eat him it would. It has to feed that cub and the more desperate it is the braver it is.
It was a mother protecting her cubs. There were two of them there. Those were bluff charges. He should have thrown the rocks sooner. Never turn your back on a wild animal. You become prey at that point. 😉

I didn’t grow up in a very wilderness-y area, but from a young age I was taught about black bears. They’re all bark and no bite. Just make yourself big and loud, and they will not engage you physically. Sometimes they “charge,” but if you stand your ground, they’ll shy away. Kid was probably very familiar with them.
Word of advice if you're going into an area with a high chance of dangerous wildlife, a good option is to carry one of those super loud panic attack alarms or whistle. Could also be a good deterrent if you come across shady people too as those alarms can cause pain in the ears.

I think what's most disturbing about story number one is as you mentioned someone was walking in the woods in the pitch black with no light source knocking on a random person's truck which makes it all the more creepy. What's more is that he managed to find a truck which was hidden deep in the woods that time of night with no flashlight or anything. Almost like the kid had a crazy hermit outside his truck. Heck the same goes for the story about the lady in the van. If I ever did something like they did I'd most certainly take a gun with me
Nah fr those 2 stories are not explainable. Possibly could have been tribal people in the story about the guy in the van. As tribes of wild people do still live in some forests in America.
he 'thinks' he was secluded, where nobody else was, but clearly that wasn't the case. someone could have been camped nearby, that he was unaware of, etc. someone could even live nearby. what made no sense though, was how he's got his phone lighting up the rear of the truck, and he says that the person has no idea he's in there???? they can clearly see the rear illuminated by the phone. that's why they were knocking on the truck.
God damn respect to that dude who encounters the cougar without running away. It may be common knowledge nowadays not to flee as fast as possible since it will catch you anyway, but it takes some serious balls not listening to basic instincts in that situation of pure fear and shock. Edit: Same to the biker boy. It might be nothing too special, but I found it very clever of him to use his bike to make himself look bigger, especially in a dangerous situation like that.
I was thinking the same with the cougar. I actually think the kid with the bike was trying more to put something between him and the bear. I would have instinctively done the same I think.
Definately using the bike was smart. Bears rear up as a challenge . The bike gave him more height, Still shocking to see the bear stroll into view. The woman in the van was stupid.
That cougar was protecting her cubs because she saw our dude as a threat (even if he wasn't planning on doing something). Glad he got out of that situation unharmed. If you ever see cubs roaming an area you better go the other way cause their parents may be nearby.
Exactly. The feigned lunges at the man were just that. She just wanted him away from her baby and had no real intention of hurting him if she didn’t have to. Big cats are ambush predators, so if she’d actually been interested in attacking/eating him, she’d have run away immediately, then followed from a distance and tried to get around behind him, lunging and biting at the back of his neck. The only thing I’d also add is that if you see a baby predator, the parents will absolutely be nearby. Unless the momma got killed or mortally injured, she’s not leaving her babies to just roam around alone. 9 times out of 10, seeing a bear or panther/cougar/mountain lion cub absolutely implies that the momma will show herself real soon.
@@thedesensitizedsympathizer5307 the man looked away which invited the cougar to lunge at him which is exactly what could have happened to the cougar if the cougar didnt stand its ground

Assuming that video was real, the woman is extremely lucky the guy didn’t try to bash his way into her vehicle. Bash out the driver’s-side window so she’d have to come towards you to start the vehicle and drive away, then unlock the door and let yourself in.
The fact that she just sat there waiting for something to happen shows that she’s either very stupid, or the video was staged.

Never turn your back on a wild animal especially a big cat as soon as you do its chase instinct kicks in always back away slowly
