Right, at that price, you better have to really look hard to find a flaw. I will say that's one of the cleanest routing jobs I've seen on a Gibson.

That guitar should be flawless at that price. Dodgy binding and a couple of sizeable patches where the finish is missing the sparkle around the underside of the heel. No bueno.

Very cool , the block inlays work best ( for myself ) on a battleship of an electric guitar like the Explorer , I'd prefer the Ebony version though that Sparkle White is attractive, The Lizzy Hale Ebony with Gold fret wire is cool , it'd be a monster with a third pickup , Thanks Trog !

Gorgeous 24 Explorer Custom Sparkle, congrats Ashley! I wonder, since I am OCD, that there's a risk with any "New Guitar Day" of Trogly finding some blemish or minor fault triggering a sudden dislike of what I just bought but I'm powerless to do anything about now. Like a 0.5mm deflection in the binding thickness, that might do it.

@@rocketpigrecords3719 You are very wrong. Both ESP and Jacksons custom shops have a massive backlog, it takes sometimes more than 2 years to get your guitar cause everybody wants them. And at least in ESPs case the quality is among the absolute best and definitely above Gibson CS. This is coming from someone who owns and loves both.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that CME wax potting the S bucker is newer development. I have a 2018 CME Spec R9 with the S buckers, bought new by me at CME on April 1, 2019, and they are not wax potted. I know because I ended up putting a bit of wax in there to reduce some feedback mostly because Gibson didn't do the best job installing the cover. The S-Buckers are brighter than standard CustomBuckers for sure. Love them both!

That white sparkle finish up close reminds me of that garage floor paint. that thing monster at that weight. and even though I have giant hands I prefer a skinny neck. and those pick-ups sound good and no screeming feedback or other noises. which I find distracting. it's the reason I don't like single coils. Gibson may have hit on something there. those in a LP or an ES 335 would probably be good.

Gibson likes Trogly? I think you might be confused pal. Remember when they blacklisted him, a paying customer, from buying one of those ultra-expensive custom shop guitars that came with the dinner and meet-and-greet ?? One of those Kirk Hammett Greeny's I think it was. His Gibson rep literally told him he was not allowed to sell one to him! They wanted to meet only "authentic" clientele or some bullshit was the reasoning, no reviewers / resellers allowed! He eventually had one on the channel anyways when someone let him borrow one for review...

I know people get excited about different Gibson pickups, but how much better are they than, say Seymour Duncan, or Bare Knuckle, or Dimarzio?
Some of your favourite guitarists from the past WEREN'T using Gibson pickups to produce the tones you grew up listening to.
I think people are probably getting swept along by the hype and marketing material. Or possibly buying a guitar to retain its value rather than for it's ability to actually be a guitar.
