I never realized this episode had such a deep message. Garfield was so addicted to TV that such addiction was portrayed as a toxic relationship. The same applies to John and his vacum but in a sicker way considering the female voice and the vacums choice of words.

I think this is what caused Garfield to suddenly stop liking anchovies on his pizza (notice around 5 minutes in he thinks it's a bad dream due to eating too many pizzas).
When the TV set first started saying "Garfield" the first time he looks up the TV is far away, but the second time it is closer as if it moved on its own. The third time it's right by his bed with the screen glowing.
@Timmya1227 Well said. And don't forget politics, either. I see a lot of people argue politics on Garfield videos and it just makes me want to reach through the monitor and slap them silly.
