The advantages include decreased operation intervention needed to generate the wheel profile, the milling machining process is optimal for extreme wheel wear conditions, and milling creates small chips that are easy to manage. The one disadvantage is that the milling cutter head is wheel profile-specific, so you cannot change profiles as fast as a CNC control can.
