As a rookie to both the Show and baseball in general the whole layout of franchise in general is kinda confusing in general but I’m piecing it together.
I noticed that the efficiency mainly takes a hit when scouting out of region. Like about 50% longer. I go with discovery+pitching, discovery+position, efficiency+pitching, efficiency+position. I do contact+power/speed and right/left+velocity. Seeing it takes years for players to reach potential I take overall slightly over potential. So I'd take a 75 potential 65 overall over a 80 potential 55 overall. Works pretty well. I hit about 3 to 5 guys per draft. Just in my experience, hope it helps.
Yeah Ant! These are the more in depth videos I love. I enjoy the short term rebuilds but I would love more franchise tips and maybe a single longterm franchise project too.
Great video and tips. Especially with the regions, it can help with morale down the road. Also with the different regions, you would know, not all scouts are created equally. So I like to specialize certain scouts to focus on either position players/pitchers and even Efficiency when your team has already been winning. Good tips on assigning scouts also.
I’ve found choosing contact and power for scouting causes a lack of players to populate. Once I switched to contact and fielding I started to see better players
Just franchise tips in general would be great. Trying to un-automate my franchises this year (usually I automate just about everything except lineups and trades) so anything helps

what happens if you do not set a scouting directive? is this for discovering players to add to the prospect pool? or its a directive on who to scout in the player pool? i manually scout, so i do not put any scouting directive?
Hey man on the players cards where they have the blue bar for current and green for scouted... does that basically mean the blue is where he is now, and the green is where he would be at full potential.. or the blue is where he is now but the green is what he actually currently is after scouting?

There's trades. It's in the hand shaking picture section. Also at the bottom of the screen it says, trade talks or view trade block. That's the trade stuff
can you import custom draft classes? Like having a draft with real prospects from college and high school? I know madden and nba 2k have this feature and was wondering the same for the show?
I noticed something insane.I traded for Trevor Story and I’m the Indians GM,I signed him to a 9 year deal and the next year in the first 60 games he has 19 homers .325 Average and a OPS of 1.020 WTF
How do you tell the difference between between the ‘bust’ player and a+ player because they both are eta 2025+ and they both have low player stats - in that case do I look at the potential?

Your actually scouting very inefficiently. It’s a lot easier to scout using a simple formula. Also, while per 9’s are important for swimming, they along with control are the only attributes that improve on a pitcher. Velocity and break do not. So I would rather have a pitcher with “good stuff” because his per 9’s will evolve organically. Per 9’s are useless if your guy has sub par stuff
