In this wildlife photography video, I bring you with me down to the river where I sat for 9 hours with my Sony A7 IV and Sony 200-600 photographing waterfowl. Always a good time when it's time spent in nature!

Fun video, awesome footage of the kingfisher and the Mergs!.
Glad you enjoyed it
That kingfisher caught a little pike
Love that type of photography. I do it often sitting in a blind warming up by boiling water for a backpacking prepackaged meal and making coffee. It also takes the boredom out of long stay. But that is also the time for an unexpected shot to produce itself. Part of the wildlife's law of nature, wait for the photographer to be preoccupied! Thanks for sharing!
Very true! Thanks!
That's what it is, you never know if you'll get lucky even if you know the bird's location. On the other hand, would the hobby be so great if everything always worked out right away? Your dedication is top notch and your videos have really good and genuine atmosphere. Excellent work and thanks for sharing!
thank you and I agree!
Nice footage. Patience pays off, always.
Great video! I love mergansers! I think hooded are my favorite but the common merganser is fun to watch when they are snorkeling!
I love them as well! Thanks!
absolutely love your determination - one whole day, dream idea. Your images turned out wonderful too - thank you. Take care and be safe out there....
Thank you! You as well
Nice filming Al. Those Ramens are clutch!
Hit the spot!
Great video, thank you for sharing!
A two battery day then, all seemed quite serene some lovely birds there and the Beaver a bonus ! Normally only out for two hour sessions, any disruption to camera function over the 9 hours ? Enjoyed the video !
Between the a7iv and the a7c i pretty much went through all 5 batteries. It was cold all day, around 18f (-7c) at the high. No disruptions to either camera though!
Good video! New subscriber here from Ontario Canada
I have that same stove in the little orange box, it’s never let me down ever since 2015.
Was that king fisher able to eat that big fish lol ?
awesome video, would be better closer with Sony 2.0x Telekonverter?
Nice video!
Did you experience overheating issues with the sony A7iv? And did you change the auto power off temp to high?
Great upload Al. Your stealth and determination is admirable. I'm thinking of jumping over to Sony A7 4 from Panasonic G9 I shoot mainly wildlife.
If I do go for this camera I will pair it with the 200-600 like you. In your opinion would you say it a good choice for wildlife? and what's the birds eye autofocus like in video mode?? Thank you for sharin your adventures. Phil🇬🇧
Thanks Phil! Yes, I love the autofocus on the IV. It's almost the same autofocus system as on the A1. I'm coming form the A7III so it's a huge improvement. I'm going to do a video on this pretty soon.
Nice. What Mic are you using?
How much does the cold weather drain the battery?
9 hours on snow!! I respect your determination. Can I know name of the bird at 0700? Just guessing it'a a family of kingfisher here in UK?
It's a female belted kingfisher
@@AlKulla Ah got it. That's good to know. Hope I can see her one day :-)
What arca plate is that on your 502AH head? Been looking for one that works on that manfrotto plate
Hi. May I ask what is your tripod setup in the video? I saw you are using a fluid head, with its quick release plate, on top of it is another quick release system? If you can provide those model number that would be wonderful. Thank you.
Here is a link to the tripod video I did. This is the one I use. ua-cam.com/video/avjk044wuyk/v-deo.html. Thanks!
The Sony A7III has a horrible eye view for video plus kind of dark, I am checking the A7iv but Best Buy has one on display but the battery is dead.
