    Here is a nice little update on some of the aquariums in the studio. A lot of them are doing well. Not all perfect but I'm happy with 80% of them. A lot of you were asking about the different tanks so in this video we will take a look at some of them. I'll update you on the rest in the next vlog video 👍

    Great video! If you make another paludarium consider adding some springtails and isopods! It'll make the tank bioactive and bring it to life. The springtails and isopods will eat mold and fungus and decaying stuff. If you try it, I would recommend white springtails and some beautiful isopod like the clown, zebra, high yellow etc.

    Good to see you have good success with your shrimp MD! Akadama is good for simple caridina like crystal or tiger shrimp for instance but it's not so great for high-end caridina because its pH is higher than 6. That's why not many breeders use it.

    I put five varieties of shrimps into a "Skittles tank" (as you called yours) just to see what would happen. The Crystal Reds and the Crystal blacks made babies that looked just like the adults, but one or two of my other shrimps (Red cherry, blue dream, and golden yellowback) produced a bunch of babies I would refer to as ghost shrimps. I am not even a little unhappy, but I am a bit surprised to see such pretty shrimps revert to their more natural state of coloration so quickly. I think they are pretty too. Though they are still small, I can see some are developing small spots and patterns. I wonder what they will look like in another couple of generations.

    Speaking from personal experience you can definitely keep betta fish in big tanks. I've currently got a tri-colour dumbo betta in my 3 foot, 260 litre community tank and he's absolutely thriving. He swims around the whole tank and I couldn't imagine keeping him in a smaller one. It's planted and contains bogwood so plenty of resting places if needed.

      I'm currently thinking about moving one of my bettas into my next 40B/166L tank I'm planning to move out the corydoras that were only supposed to be in his tank temporarily. Something I saw recently, it may have been on this channel, is those decorative betta leaves all the way up one side of the tank so that a betta can rest wherever in the big tank they had it in.

    hi is it just the high lighting that make the rocks in the neocaridina tank green?

    My water is way too hard and it is hard to get it softer with standard practices so shrimp tanks in Minnesota is not that common. I wish they were because they are so cool.

    MD, we’re getting our first aquascape currently, and I haven’t been able to find how long, or how to create beneficial bacteria. We have a tank and plants so far. Want to do shrimp, pea puffer, and snails. TIA!!

    • @walkersw9243
      @walkersw9243 Рік тому

      You can buy it, API and fluval both sell beneficial bacteria. The pea puffers should enjoy the shrimp and snails as a tasty snack in a few minutes 😁

    What filter are you using? Does it suck up shrimp?

    Limnophila sessiflora does not cope well with strong flow, which is what I think is happening in the Indian tank.
    Took me the longest time to work out why mine kept dying in a high tech tank.

    Given all the bio matter created by Timmy, do you think you could ever manage to make a no water change ecosystem tank for him?
