This hymn relates Jesus' triumphant entrance into the city, and the awful death of Jesus, on the lonely hill. For Roman Catholics, it's not Rome that's most important, it's Jerusalem and Calvary. Bringing to mind those fateful events has much in it favor.

I listened to this recording when I was a child back in 1961. I practically wore out the record. It got me through some very hard times. Thank you.

Having met Mr Hines when he came to Boston. He would sing in the Sunday morning service at the Salvation Army. I loved his voice even as a teenager.
I've so many memories connected to this hymn. Mr. Hines does it justice.

The song has little in its favor, and the arrangement is ghastly. But Hines sings it very well.
