People don't realize that the people singing this are sight-reading song after song for the company, they have no time to flesh out vowels and stuff like that.
It's also incredibly autotuned and perfected, but your point still stands. Songs aren't meant to be performed "perfectly" since it just sounds weird to a listener.
[Verse 1] Heart beats fast Colors and promises How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall But watching you stand alone? All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow One step closer [Chorus] I have died everyday waiting for you Darling don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more [Verse 2] Time stands still Beauty in all she is I will be brave I will not let anything take away What's standing in front of me Every breath Every hour has come to this One step closer [Chorus] I have died everyday waiting for you Darling don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more [Bridge] And all along I believed I would find you Time has brought your heart to me I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more One step closer One step closer [Chorus] I have died everyday waiting for you Darling don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more [Outro] And all along I believed I would find you Time has brought your heart to me I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more
kinda sucks really. I got excited about singing it. I was going to show it to my choir. but Mac Huff couldn't even keep it in the right key, which is a pretty easy key even for the cello and piano, both of which I play. Kaitlin Gustafson was correct in saying their vowels were awful, but god, why did he have to make the tenors so high? it's not meant to sound like you're straining and fighting against your voice just to get that pitch higher, it's meant to be calm and peaceful. just an octave lower would have been perfect, and perhaps the singers could have added some grace notes and little variations that would have added a semblance of character and liveliness to it.
lmao true. I'm singing this in choir and I cant even manage to sing half of the song and I'm the highest soprano in the class. I'm going to laugh so hard when our teacher realizes that no normal person can sing this high.
Mason Farrell It’s not in the original key because it would be too low for the women in the choir, they would not like singing low F’s throughout the piece and it wouldn’t be audible because it’s so low. Also, I’m not sure why you think it sounds screeching, the key of D is a fantastic key for choirs and suits the piece.
The vocal lines are well within the normal ranges, perhaps a small stretch for the bass line when they sing in unison. The piano parts are not meant for the vocalists.

Yeah
Thank you for this awesome score for choir!
[Verse 1]
Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone?
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
[Chorus]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
[Verse 2]
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
[Chorus]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
[Bridge]
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer
[Chorus]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
[Outro]
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Mason Farrell wow you really know what you're talking about. I admire that greatly.

I see some Es for the sopranos - that's standard territory for that part. E above middle C is also normal for a tenor line.

Vowels are terrible.....
Brooklynn Tomlin well yea they are just recording it not performing it or going to contest so-
I love it but their vowels are awful
lol true though
😮 Really?
my concert choir (8 girls) sang this better😂😂😂
that's because the choir in this recording are sight reading for the first time, they have no time to flesh out vowels lol
