Hard Times is a 1975 crime neo noir sport film marking the directorial debut of Walter Hill. It stars Charles Bronson as Chaney, a drifter freighthopping through Louisiana during the Great Depression, who competes in illegal bare-knuckled boxing matches after forming a partnership with the garrulous hustler Speed, played by James Coburn. - Розваги
I didn't realize like two or three stages of street fighter two was taken from this film. Pretty cool.
Lionheart was based on hard times great flick
I remember an old interview with director Sheldon Lettich. He said Hard Times was a favorite of his and the inspiration for Lionheart.
I absolutely love this film. I think the most interesting fight was the bald guy.
Great review. I guess I like this one a little more than you. The lack of music during the fights actually makes them more gritty. As far as 70s Bronson goes, this movie is easily one of his best
Bronson also was the highest paid actor in Hollywood at this point of his career.
I love Charles Bronson! God bless you! Happy to see you reviewing some charlie Bronson! P.S. I really enjoyed your Lord of the Rings review and I agreed 💯 % about Game of Thrones! 😴🤮🙄
0:50 Sunny Landham is that film too but very briefly.
2:37 ''Hudson Hawk?''
Awesome job on the review bro I've herd of this film but never got around to seeing it.
Yeah, the movie was just 'okay'. As far as the lack of real brutality in this, I think maybe because he was working with older actors who may have been a bit more conservative about that sort of thing. Maybe if 'Hard Times' was made in the 80's, we would've had teeth flying out and actual, Rocky-style body damage.
PG was different in those days so this movie had a lot of violence but not too gory or it would get an R rating.
You add blood and gore you start flirting with R rating. The 1970's had very few successful R rated films. Hill would show his bloodiest best in The Long Riders 1979. Rated R of course and predictably, it did poorly. Business decision and the correct 1.
