- If you were a fan of sitcoms in the '90s or kids' movies in the early 2000s, it's hard to think about Mary-Kate Olsen without thinking of her twin sister, Ashley. The duo became an absolute entertainment powerhouse together, from basically right after they were born. They started acting at just six months old.
Things have changed quite a bit for them in adulthood. While they're still close and work together in their fashion business The Row, they've also made public and personal lives for themselves as individuals. Mary-Kate, in particular, has been through some definite ups and downs over the years, but she's come out on the other side all the stronger. So glad to see more and more videos about them. They are beautiful, unique and interesting women with passion for their work and amazing style. I look on them as mine role models, not only because of their beauty and sense of style, but also for their modesty, down to earth behavior and decision to keep things private! All love to MK & Ash🖤
I wish they gave more interviews and were more public with their lives. They’ve always inspired me and continue to have a mystique about themselves

I think they made the best choice about connecting to their fans through fashion, instead of soical media. And I love it how they are hardworking, discreet people that they follow their dreams and stick to their healthy boudnaries when comes to the world; with family and friends, and business.

@@erins.5420 social media has been around since 2007 my friend, and they got more into fashion after they left the industry in 2008. there just not really social media type of girls, UA-cam started around 2005, Facebook 2007, and Twitter 2009. but the other two blew up first, especially Facebook, UA-cam didn't blew up until around 2011, Twitter followed a year after in 2012.
I admire them. They’re not posting their names or any logos on their clothing & have no social media. They both seem very humble & down to earth. especially considering their backgrounds & how much $$$$$$$ they have.
Money often changes ppl & with the ungodly amount of money they have now & HAVE had, damn near their whole lives, they seem very relatable & likable. Wishing them & everyone reading this the very best! ❤️❤️

Thanks and back at you. 😃 I am amazed at these two and they have got to be the most cutest out of all the baby 🍼 stars . I think for years I wasn't aware that they were twins. I kept thinking 🤔,how do they film when you have a baby on set??Lol ,I am glad they turned out to be very well grounded. I am also happy they decided not to put their label all over their clothes. I personally think it detracts from the item.I like clean lines. Some of my favorite brands I won't wear now because they put it on the outside for status or ????? They also don't make it at high quality anymore, yet charge more ??
I think they need help. They are very weird and they look terribly unhappy or is that there persona for the media. They look absolutely miserable ALL the time.
@@licksnkicks1166 Here's the thing.. people.. don't have to smile all the time. They don't need to prove they are happy. They don't need to smile for the camera to satisfy you. Get over it. They're happy in their personal lives. They've worked literally their entire lives I think they're allowed to not constantly have to be scrutinised by the media. They're allowed to keep private. You have no basis to say they're weird except that they dont smile all the time INFRONT of cameras. A smile doesn't equal happiness and not smiling doesn't equal not happy.
a troubled young lady, who now does not speak to her parents, saying she would NEVER wish her upbringing on anybody, does not feel connected to the pictures of herself at premierers, or stills of her movies. She says she had no choice as a baby and hated being famous and wanted to be normal. Her mother nearly took her and Ashley out of full house after the first season, but their father kept them in, raising their salary. It is just so sad. I feel sorry for her .

Me too. She looks in bad shape too, slowly getting worse over time and from what I’ve heard from the few normal ppl to have ever been around them (granted this was years ago as she seems to have been on an unhealthy path for quite some time now), but I’ve been told these girls just do NOT take care of themselves.. Like to the pt they literally smell bad when standing close.. && I mean, a smokers dream wedding with literal bowls of cigs everywhere is also in line w/ the things I’ve heard.. She honestly sounds like an extremely depressed person likely still struggling w/ EDs on/off through her life as 1 quick stint in a facility w/ no aftercare plan after the ED was only just first even discovered to be an issue (keeping in mind these are lifelong issues for ppl who have them like 99.9% of the time, && 99.9% of the time it takes years of therapy, life coaches, & stints in n out of facilities to deal with n really over come) before jumping into the real world after a lifetime of being sheltered from the public, straight from rehab to living on your own going to one of the countries toughest colleges (even for balanced, stable, smart, normal kids), && never speaking of the issue again like it just disappeared along w/ a lifetime of traumas that cause it to begin with, in the drop of a hat is… Idk.. Suspect to say the least. . I mean, even straight out of rehab she still hadn’t even been capable of admitting out loud that she ever even had a problem. && her sisters relationship w/ her, being enmeshed & co dependent to an extremely unhealthy level, just seems to enable her more than offer the proper, grounding, stable, familial support they should be providing each other.. It’s just extremely saddening to visibly see her rotting away, maybe getting a little better, && then quickly back to whatever is causing her to literally deteriorate in front of us… Like so saddening.. You can literally see the effects of the cigarette overkill & stress/lack of eating properly in her face.. Idk what the deal w/ her sister is but she looks to be a little better/healthier at least.. Not sure if she’s a smoker too or ever had any ED/mental type issues, I mean I’m sure she’s at least the basic stress/depression issues most adults have at some point & clearly a co dependency on her sister but idk.. You’d think if Ashley were stable and well cared for, she’d be like… looking out for her sister.. idk.. Ashley def looks a lot healthier in a lot of these pics though, not all - but many.. Almost like seeing what Mary Kate would naturally look like based on genetics w/o all the self harm… It’s just so sad to see this kind of shit EVERYWHERE.. So many ppl struggling.. So many of us straight traumatized from childhood to a point that your dealing w/ it for the rest of your life if you do manage to survive it all w/o killing your self in one way or another.. Then you have Hollywood finding some of the most effed up parents to let them take advantage of their kids putting them & all their personal baggage on the world stage under its spotlight… I don’t know much about the parents but it’s funny you always automatically think it must be the mom pushing for ongoing stardom lol, then when you find out it’s dad it’s like wth? Almost kind of worse as at least I can understand a mothers misguided motivations behind wanting their kids to have success on the world stage but w/ dads & men in general, it just goes against their nature to want their daughters/women being thrown out into the world & objectified before global audiences … Obviously we’ve seen plenty though, like Jamie Spears, who are more than happy to throw their babies to the world for a profit to be made off their work & ultimately trauma/sacrifices… Just wish there weren’t so many fucked up parents/adults in the world when so many of us KNOW first hand what it’s like to be traumatized for life by the very ppl who should’ve protected you for life, taught you about the world, prepped you for life, && so on.. Like we should all know better by now & to just continue repeating the same destructive crimes against each other & our kids for SO MANY generations of us on this earth is just insanity… Literally, mankind is the epitome of the definition of insanity… So sad, so scary.. More ppl need to BE the difference & just step up n do the right things, even when it’s tough.. Mankind needs to change.. Need to stop being such shallow, empty, paper dollar motivated species & start focusing on what really matters which is the best possible quality of life for all on this planets … Start being responsible, good, healthy, caring parents willing to put in the time & the work, & make the sacrifices necessary yourself, FOR your kids, not grooming them to put it all in for you..

They were huge icons back in the 90s and 2000s but i respect that they retired their acting to focus on their fashion career like many former kid stars would do. They have faced some tragic details especially Mary Kate cause she had suffered the most.

That's what's sad, they were not given a normal childhood and all their father seemed to care about was the money they were raking in, and if the mother truly cared, she would not have ended up going along with the fathers decision.

The father sounds dominating and the mother may have been traumatized herself, who knows? Bowls of cigarettes and marrying someone 20 years older are red flags for sure.

My sister and I grew up watching them, even pretending to be twins. We watched any and everything they were involved in! 2:42 We had that VHS tape and would play it every single day. We learned all the songs and moves and would perform them in front of our family members ! I am the Cute One (which is the actual song from the timestamp mentioned), Brother for Sale, Peanut Butter... man, I remember all of those songs lol those were some good times!

As an identical twin myself the same age as them, hanks for putting that hotline at the end. I kno for a fact it helped one person out tbere. Only know these harsh things until you've been there yourself, and that is a fact. No psychiatrist o, therapist, or loved one can truly understand. Cannot even explain. I worked at NYU in 2004 and on my way home one night from work I saw her at the last stop Journal Square station in Jersey City NJ on the Port Authority Trans Hudson subway train from Manhattan. She was standing in front of me outside on the platform, even tough the train back to Manhattan was on the other platform. Well I don't know which twin it was but the passengers who were with me started at her as they left. I was speechless and didn't tell her the train to Manhattan was on the other platform. Apparently this was her first trip on the subway system that connects New Jersey to NYC that few people know about since it was originally opened in 1908 and was owned by the Hudson and Manhattan Subway Railroad that ended in 1962 and was then bought by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Adorable and natural were not words I ever associated with their performance.

I think they loathe cameras and I totally understand them. I won’t understand a celeb who choose to be famous and complain about paparazzis but in their case I feel for them. The director who will convince any of them to do a movie would be a genius because I don’t think they will ever perform again.

They I remember the both of them looking happy, healthy, cute and full of life as kids . They were extremely beautiful and healthy in their early adolescence and early adulthood years. Now they look extremely worn-out and aged into their 70s, feeble. Despite all the makeup and expensive clothing, they appear extremely tired, stressed and dull. They have lost all their shine and glow they once had earlier. Even their smiles seems extremely forced and energy consuming . The show-biz industry has sucked out their souls and vibrance, they should’ve stopped at a younger age and enjoyed their lives. They made more than enough money at the age of ten to last sustain them, their family members and on coming generations. And they have passive income
I think Mary-Kate greases her hair down, so that no one will see her beauty. She looks like Justine Bateman. I think she would be very beautiful if she got a haircut, fluffed up her hair, and got blonde highlights. They are both beautiful. I think they resent their parents pushing them into show business when they didn't even know it. They just crave privacy. I feel sad for them even though they have tons of money and own their own businesses. They want to be left alone unless they feel like being photographed.

These twins fascinate me because I’ve never seen Fraternal Twins who look so similar! Since Fraternal Twins share the same genetic material as any other siblings, it’s remarkable to see just how similar they still look. I have seen Identical twins that look more dissimilar than these sisters - even as adults! While that may be rare, I also think that if their younger sister, Elizabeth, was as small in stature as her twin sisters, they might have been mistaken for triplets (Mary Kate is 5” tall, Ashley is 5’1”, & Elizabeth is 5’6”. It’s also great that these sisters + Elizabeth appear to have close relationships with each other!
