This is a Fine Artists sketchbook tour - quite different to other sketchbook tours I’ve been watching and as a fine artist myself I absolutely loved it. For me this was wonderful - soul food 😊. I loved your work, the way you use a sketchbook, your presentation and your skills are sublime . I am subscribed and will learn lots from you. Thankyou for sharing.
@@maisycakes1125 Hi Maisy! Thank you so much for your nice comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the sketchbook tour and my work 😊 Do you also keep a sketchbook? :)
For some reason this sketchbook tour really got to me. The magical paintings with a bit mysterious people. It gave me some kind of Deja vu. It is rare I get this feeling. Keep on going, and you will do some amazing things in the future😊
Your stunning paintings express a very artistic, deep inner truth of yours, it seems to me a very personal story with hidden layers, beautiful art, well done to you❤
That is so cool. Thank you :) Yes, sometimes there is that kind of need of perfection that can be very annoying when working on a sketchbook (I feel it too). It is kind of liberating to just work and have some fun too. I hope you have a nice time with your sketchbook :)
Hello =D I loooooooove your style, your colourpalette and the capacity to capture the children's looks =D so beautiful! Which acrylic paint do you use? It looks very opaque, this is so nice! Have a lovely day, I am happy to have discovered your channel bye =D
@@pingupen.studio Hi! This is so nice, thank you so much 😊 I’m glad you enjoy it! I am using Amsterdam acrylics (just the standard grade) I don’t thin the painting with water, I just use it like that (maybe some water residus from cleaning my brushes with) Maybe it looks opaque because of that I think :) I like to load my brush with enough amount of paint so I can have material to work with :) do you use acrylics also? I hope you have a lovely day also! 😊
@@elenaburcioa You're welcome! Thank you so much for your response. Ok , this is cool, yesterday I saved your other videos of acrylic painting to watch! so I can see how you paint, so interesting! Yes, at the moment I run out of acrylic paints, I had a few and in one picture the mini-tubes were used. But I want to invest in some, one day. At the moment I paint a lot with acrylic gouache =D
@@pingupen.studio oh that is so nice! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy painting in acrylics 😃 I would love to see your acrylic paintings 😊I never tried acrylic gouache, just two tubes some years ago but I couldn’ t notice the difference as I was mixing them with watercolor and regular gouache. I do love the shiny aspect of acrylics and the fact that I can paint very bold 😊
Thank you :) sure! There is not really a conscious (or philosophical) meaning of leaving some painting faceless. It is more of a technical (maybe subconscious) choice. Sometimes because it is a small painting and I just want to keep it very simple, prioritizing a moment (an atmosphere) rather than a very rendered picture :)
Hi! Your sketches are nostalgic and calming. I noticed your pencil/charcoal drawings don’t smudge, did you use fixative? It looks like it worked really effectively! :)
Hi! thank you :) I forget to use fixative but I have to do that for the long term. Instead (in the meantime) I put some baking paper in between the pages so I can work and the drawings don’t smudge :) it is very handy!
Thank you :) I think that not thinned acrylic/gouache painting works very well. Any wet medium will be affecting the pages in any way. Maybe waterbased markers will bleed less? You can also paint with oils if you prepare your page before it with gesso or acrylic paint. And then colored pencils and pastels also work well in my opinion, like Neocolor II or any other similar. I am not very familiar with other kind of supplies as ink. I cannot tell.
@@KarenK-r4f Hi! I do use gouache sometimes lately (I think there is some pages from that sketchbook in gouache) If you are asking about the majority of the paintings in this sketchbook, they were made with acrylics :)
Hi Samantha, It depends. Acrylic painting requires another kind of setup than watercolors on the go. Because the painting doesn’t reactivate with water. I have a watercolor Mijello sealed palette for my acrylics (they stay wet for some days) and I also used, in the past, a sealed smaller palette that keeps the painting wet for a long time. Very handy. In this palette I have now some gouache painting. In any case I am still figuring out a nice minimal portable setup that I like. But I don’t like to carry around with me a lot of art supplies when traveling or going anywhere. Trying to keep it minimal :)
Hi Kimberlee, I’m sorry it is true it is not nice to see a blurry video. Although the video is available in a good quality. Maybe you can check the settings in your video choices and/or your connexion to fix that.

The consistency in putting down paint, pencil or ink on every page of the notebook is uplifting. Speaking as a lazy artist.
