I learned that Municipal Trial Court and Regional Trial Court were established by Batas Pambansa Blg. 129. I also learned that Regional Trial Court has jurisdiction over criminal cases; imposable penalty is above 6 years imprisonment while MTC or Municipal Trial Court(in municipalities) has jurisdiction over criminal cases;imposable penalty is 6years imprisonment or below. Metropolitan Trial Court; Metropolitan Areas. MTCC or municipal trial court in Cities. MCTC or municipal Circuit trial court wherein the venue of two or more Municipalities is only one/in one place. A blessed morning atty. upon watching this video i learned the difference between RTC, MeTC, MTC, MTCC, MCTC. The RTC is formerly known as Court of first instance where it held the criminal cases with the jurisdiction above 6 years imprisonment. Second is the MTC or the Inferior Court which is lower than the supreme court and held criminal cases with the jurisdiction below 6 years of imprisonment. Good evening atty. For this time I've learned about regional trial Court that in the jurisdiction of a trial Court it was the 2nd level court and formerly known as court of the first instance. This municipal court has its own jurisdiction due to the penalty which is more than 6 years imprisonment. In municipal court, its own jurisdiction is at 1st level and its formerly known as inferior Court, while the supreme Court is superior. These two courts municipal trial court and regional trial Court were established the same by sec. 5 batasang pambansa blg. 129.

Good day Atty. This video lecture continues on defining different courts in the Philippines. Thank you so much for giving us knowledge about this following Philippine court. I've learned that Regional Trial Court or the Second Level Court was formerly called as Court of First Instance. It has a jurisdiction over criminal cases that has a penalty of more than 6 year's imprisonment. RTC has the general or default jurisdiction that if no court has the jurisdiction of a specific case they will claim it. Next jurisdiction of court that I've learned is the Municipal Trial Court or the First Level Court that was formerly knows as Inferior Court under the Batasang Pambansa Blg. 129. It has jurisdiction over criminal cases where the penalty is six year imprisonment or below. Thank you also for differentiating Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) which court applies in NCR or City, the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) applies in a municipality, Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) applies to a municipal that became a city and the last one is the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) that applies 2 or more municipalities in one Municipal Trial Court. While MTC which stands for Municipal Trial Court also known as First level court formerly known as Inferior court. this court was establish under Section 25 of Batas Pambansa bilang 129. I've also learned that MTC stand for Metropolitan Trial court- trial court which are located in the metropolitan areas. In today's lesson about Regional Trial Court & Municipal Trial Court, I've found out that RTC is also called Second Level Court formely known as Court of First Instance.(before) As well as the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) First Level Court formely known as Inferior Court. Plus, the differences between Metropolitan Trial Court (applied only if the MTC is in NCR), Municipal Trial Court (Court in Municipality), MTCC (Municipal Trial Coury in Cities) and Municipal Circuit Trial Court (2 or more combined municipalities under 1 MTC).
