Hello DiCarlo, I have a question. I’m going to try to explain this as best i can so there is no confusion. I have a Topcon Rover and use Magnet Field as a personal set up. At work i use Trimble with siteworks software. Now in siteworks i have a Job Folder. In that Job folder i have multiple design folders, one would be for a bridge, another folder for drainage, another folder for median barrier, another for electric layout, etc. It just makes it look cleaner, instead of having all the line work for the entire job showing on the collector i can pick and choose what i want to layout so i don’t accidentally touch the wrong line and lay it out. I noticed in Magnet field when i import those dxf files everything design goes into the job but i can uncheck the layers to minimize the clutter. Is there a way i can create design folders within my job so i dont have to go through the layers and uncheck things? Or is that how the software is designed?
This is simple. Anytime you import a drawing or surface, besides having to toil over which layers to enable/disable you can easily enable our disable the drawing itself. From the map properties. A drawing or surface is considered a background. Which you can enable or disable. Hiding it or showing it in it's entirety.
@@DiCarloTV omg that’s amazing. Such a piece of cake. Ok another question. I may know the answer. I have a lot of designs I want transfer over from Trimble to my collector. Instead of importing one dxf at a time, is there a way to select multiple dxf files and transfer all of them over at once?
Not something I believe is possible. As multiple files can have (even though you can make it so they don't) different entities and then sifting through them, MAGNET Field would not know what to import from which file. So, in order to be "idiot proof" it is designed to make you import individually (even though advanced guys may suffer - but there are fewer of those than beginners).@@littlenel17
