My favorite Moody Blues song is "The Story In Your Eyes", followed by "Question". If you haven't reacted to them yet, please check them out. I saw them in concert in 1987 when "Your Wildest Dreams", "The Voice" and "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" were the hits of that era. Great concert.
Growing up in the sixties there certainly were so many greatbands but the Moody Blues were the best total class in every way...fortunately I saw them twice in the early eighties in Lakeland and Denver.
I appreciate the variety of music these guys have made and especially the quality of it all. They cover a pretty wide musical range with skill and taste. Them and Pink Floyd have been at the top of my favorites list for over 50 years.
I was lucky in the 90's to see The Moody Blues at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas,😅 it was a Wonderful Concert, 💙 this was one of the songs they played the audience went wild!🎵 ✌️Peace ☮️ your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary😊 Great Reaction👍 😮Whoo! Whoo! Go! Andre Go! Whoo!
One of my favorite bands. Saw them live twice. The album this song is from, Seventh Sojourn, is my favorite of the band's, but if you include side projects, I am partial to Bluejays by Justin Hayward and John Lodge. Ray Thomas's first solo album, From Mighty Oaks, is also quite nice. As far as a list of songs to go to next, well, there are just too many, but, here's a small sampling: You and Me Emily's Song Nice to Be Here Lost in a Lost World I Dreamed Last Night (Bluejays) I Wish We Could Fly (From Mighty Oaks) Songwriter pts. 1 & 2 (Justin Hayward) These rabbit holes can get very deep. Love you! Thanks for the enjoyment!
I would love to see you react to 'For My Lady' by them. I think you both would love it! It's such a beautiful gentle song and it's sung by Ray Thomas, the flutist from the band.
My hands and feet were tapping so hard that at one point my middle finger turned to me and said: "I'm just a finger in a rock-and-roll hand." The Moodies have magic. We just lost their Merlin. RIP Merlin Pinder.
I'm glad you are taking to these guys........and ,yes you can go down their Rabbit hole as well.....many albums and like all great bands lots of great cuts other than their hits.
Can you just imagine listening to this for the first time and then it's followed by Nights in White Satin !!!!!!!!!!! Yikes,.......... as a teen I was blown away to say the least. :)
Their many harmonies in a lot of their music and songs go along with their instruments to really enhance and enrich the music. Vocal and instrumental harmonies!❤
Through my 50 plus years of going to live concerts, I have heard very few bands who can pull off studio quality sound live. Most people don't sound as good live as their studio records sound. The Moody Blues ALWAYS pulled it off. I saw them live twice. Both experiences were GREAT!
Great song from the "Seventh Sojourn" album. Moody Blues are one of my favorite groups from the 60's-80's. Love their mix of rock with classical music. Lots of great songs such as "Go Now", "The Story In Your Eyes", "Question", "Isn't Life Strange", "Ride My See-Saw", "Gemini Dream", "The Voice" etc. All of their music is great! Many of their records are concept albums & meant to be listened to all at once.
"Ride My See Saw", "The Story in Your Eyes", "The Voice", "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" - are some of their best. Almost forgot - also "You and Me"
OOOWWW WWEEEE..!!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LADEL IN UR HAND WHILE UR DANCING AROUND THE ROOM. LOTS OF GOOD MEMORIES WITH THESE SONG. WAS GETTIN CHILLS ON THAT LAST PART, WHEN ALL THE INSTRUMENTS N VOCALS WERE ALL GOIN. GREAT SMILES ROCK ON 👊🖖
Back in those days us kids would organize a Beer Kegger somewhere out in the country and young people gathered from all around , A cover charge would give you all the beer you could drink and pay for the Rock n Roll band, Believe this song was one of the songs the band would play!
See, the thing is, back in the late '60s, early '70s, we didn't think that the Moody Blues were just singers in a rock'n'roll band. We felt that they were prophets and spiritual leaders. So in this song, they are saying, don't look to us for answers. But so much of their music and lyrics felt like they were answering questions about life and God and so many other things. They were trying to tell people to get away from drugs and look to more spiritual endeavors. Songs like "Legend of a Mind" about Timothy Leary, and "The Best Way to Travel", both from In Search of the Lost Chord, lay this out. Very deep stuff, while very listenable. You should listen to all of their "Core 7" albums start to finish. If you had to do one song next, I would highly recommend "Question" from 1970. It has all of the things that make the Moody Blues great in one song.
One of the greatest, even most prophetic songs ever recorded. Remember "Concert for Bangladesh ", Live Aid" for Ethiopian famine relief, even the "Farm Aid" concerts held each year to help American farmers? I'd LOVE to see a gathering of artists from around the world to perform and record to benefit the humanitarian efforts to help the people of Ukraine, having lost everything, their lives decimated by that ruthless despot Putin. I guess the reference to "people frightened by the people who are scorching this earth" brought it to mind. ✌️💜🎶
If you thought The Moody blues were prophets and spiritual leaders you missed the whole point of the song I grew up listening to those first 7 albums also and thought it was great music, but never looked to them for any answers.
@@bobcorbin3294 Of course I get the song, as I pointed out. They knew how they were thought of, and were saying, we're only singers. But during those hallucinogenic days, the Moody Blues seemed to have something more important to say than most other bands.
The Moody Blues actually go all the way back into the 50s they had different people in the group and they called themselves MB MB came from where they were playing at a pub in across the street was this beer factory or Brewery I can't remember the name of it but it was MB so they called themselves in B well about 64 when when Justin Hayward joined the group they changed it from MB to Moody Blues okay before Justin Hayward commented they had one or two songs that hit the chart not very high when Justin came in he wrote the songs night and white satin which is still popular today after written in 1965 this is fantastic group they are what I call the gods of music they are the best rock and roll group I have ever heard in my life first time I ever heard Moody Blues was a album called threshold of a dream and they stole my heart the music was so perfect it touched my soul when music touches my soul it's there for everybody you can't let it go
"Ride My See-Saw" and "The Story in Your Eyes" are more along this line, and "The Actor," "Voices in the Sky," and "Watching and Waiting" are on the more melodic, softer side. "Gypsy (Of a Strange and Distant Time)" and "Question" are more like compositions. Hope you listen to more!
I have a suggestion to you from America's greatest rock and roll band Grand Funk Railroad inside looking out is a good song or comfort me I believe you'll get a lot of hits if you play one of these songs
This Legendary band The Moody Blues has such a cult following because their messages in their music were worshiped and considered gods along with Pink Floyd, that could deliver the people from problems in society.
Question the best !!!!
Please check out “Question” by these guys-you’ll love it

The Moody Blues were a fairly sophisticated band with a lot orchestration and one of the premier psychedelic bands of the late 60's.
I saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado do this live with the Denver Symphony. Just incredible.
Great band.great memories
Great song and great band. The very beginnings of Progressive Rock

Another example of living with great music as a teenager. Rock on!
I would love to see you react to 'For My Lady' by them. I think you both would love it! It's such a beautiful gentle song and it's sung by Ray Thomas, the flutist from the band.
One of my favorites from them for sure, love Ray, our veteran cosmic rocker.
Yes! And New Horizons as well, great pair!
Love Seventh Sojourn.....
So many songs to choose from, but today for me is The Stage, great song. Tomorrow it might be another song.
My hands and feet were tapping so hard that at one point my middle finger turned to me and said: "I'm just a finger in a rock-and-roll hand."

The Mighty Moody Blues, nothing else needs to be said
Another old Banger! Who doesn’t love this song…so dang Cool and a Fun listen!
You definitely need to listen to the Moody Blues catalogue. Their music, is the nearest thing to a spiritual experience, you will find in the genre.
Great song, makes your heart pound 💓 can’t help bobbing your head!
Andre is rocking out!
Words and music
This hole album is amazing
That's a cracking breathless bit of music, for me personally pretty timeless!!
Thanks guys!!.....
Now, "Step in Slide Zone" another great Track
Their many harmonies in a lot of their music and songs go along with their instruments to really enhance and enrich the music. Vocal and instrumental harmonies!❤
I remember the live video shown in music program on television early seventies when this was a hit
