Street Weekend 2023 - The Official Movie - Drag & Drive

- “Street Weekend” was an all-new competition for 2023 to find out who’s really king of the street. In a nod to the coveted Hot Rod Drag Week in the USA, drivers had to set and submit a time at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire before Driving around 200 miles to Melbourne Raceway in York to set a time on day 2 and then returning again and setting a time on the 3rd day.
Track conditions were different on each day, starting at Santa Pod on day 1 at the Sportsman Nationals Test Day, an unprepped 1/8-mile challenge at Melbourne on day 2 and finally alongside the Sportsman Nationals at Santa Pod on day 3 on a full championship-prepped track.
We all know that Street Eliminator cars are probably the quickest street legal cars on track in the UK right now, but can they really handle that many road miles? This was the competition to find out!

I like the Melbourne Raceway bit as I used to race my drag bike here in the 1990,s my local track, nice see it up and running again, 1994 was my year, won PDRC outright champ on a shoe string budget, happy days. I also raced at the pod in the 90's. Im a spectator now but still love drag racing.

What a well made film, and what a weekend, I was at Melbourne and thought it was fantastic to see all the cars run, probably THE best event of the year, roll on 2024!

What a fantastic competition, weekend and the organizers. We need to reinstate Blackbushe (if its still there) for next year. Definitely doing that one if theres 3 dragstrips.

What were the pineapples all about???
We had to visit checkpoints on the road sections and take a photo of the car at each checkpoint. There was a mystery item that had to be visible in the photos too, but we weren't told what it was to prevent people visiting the checkpoints beforehand and cheating. The mystery item was the pineapple.
