Ironically, California gets over 1000 MegaWatts from another nuclear power plant in Arizona called Palo Verde Generating Station west of Phoenix. No plans to stop buying that power for sure.
Fast reactor like BN-600 & BN-800 reduction of waste using spent radioactive rods,instead of making more rods for fuel,that would be a future development and reduce amount of spent material
