The Messenger of Allaah (salla'Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "When Allaah loves a slave, He calls Jibreel (Gabriel) and says: `I love so-and-so; so love him.' And then Jibreel loves him. Then he (Jibreel) announces in the heavens saying: Allaah loves so-and-so; so love him; then the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels) also love him; and then people on earth love him. And when Allaah hates a slave, He calls Jibreel and says: `I hate so-and-so, so hate him.' Then Jibreel also hates him. He (Jibreel) then announces amongst the inhabitants of heavens: `Verily, Allaah hates so-and-so, so you also hate him.' Thus they also start to hate him. Then he becomes the object of hatred on the earth also".

It's because of this brother that I found the Sunnah and left off innovations. Alahumma baarik lahu

SubhanAllah brother that is soo very true.. I had to change my mashjid because the first mashjid I was going to for Taraweeh was so speedy that I could hardly say my "subhanaha rabbi al adheem & a'la" 3 times with understanding of what I'm saying.. I then started going to a different mosque because of this reason.. People forget that when we stand in Salah we are before Allah- our Creator & we have to mean what we say not just recite without contemplating

Wa alaykum Assalaam,
No, it is not the Sunnah to shave the head for no reason. The key word here however is "no reason" which means that if there is a reason, then it is fine.. Also, bear in mind that we live 45 minutes from Makkah and Umrah is concluded with shaving or shortening the hair.. Some people have medical reasons also.
