Btw. A wine bottle with a hole near the bottom makes the best incense burner and you can paint it or decorate it anyway you want. I use an old key ring to hold the incense stick.

How long did it take? The first piece? Seconds? Minutes? I'm wanting to drill holes in stained glass scraps but is there a ballpark on the time it takes to break through and have the hole drilled? I have a habit of giving up too soon LOL

This one took a bit of time (10 min) because it was pretty hard Pyrex type glass. In general, it should be fairly quick. I should have used a larger drillbit though. That was my error.

Would an engraving bit with diamonds work for drilling as well? I want to make sure for drilling a 1/4 in hole in a glass bottle

I'm asking because there is a clearance sale for a whole engraving kit for 8.00 at Walmart as opposed to one single 24.00 glass cutting bit, go figure, thanks

John Vu you really need diamond for glass drilling. If the Walmart kit does not have any diamond studded drill Tips, then it would probably not be that good for glass drilling.

The kit actually have 4-5 diamond fused bits made for engraving, but ive seen people use these bits to drill a hole as well, i just thought i asked someone with more experience - upside I do a little engraving on the side as well so 8.00 is a hell of a deal
