I'd say one benefit of modules is a variety of creative inputs - so long as you're buying modules by a variety of authors, of course. The in-house editors keep them consistent enough that the campaign isn't all over the map, but different voices avoids the trap of getting stuck in a DM's favourite trope. "It's a lone mountain. Again. Watch for Orcs. Again." On the other hand, I find reading and getting familiar with another DM's adventure harder than just doing it myself. Maybe that's the only child in me! I'd rather sketch out a general idea and then fill in to meet the players as they help write the story.
I think both have their place. My gaming group has returned to modules in recent years, but original content is always appreciated.
Well said!

I never thought of that -- the "only child" theory... You may be on to something there! I too am an only child, and feel the same way!
What I wouldn't give to spend an evening with you and your family, and just play D&D all day with you guys 🙂

@fatemastercesium7756 that would be nice, but things will need to change for that to happen
@@Lightmane May circumstances change sufficiently to let it happen.
Hi guys. Just leaving a comment for that elusive algorithm 😏
Always appreciated, Lightmane! Looking forward to your interview with the Grognards.
