The title is cellphones... Nowadays, everyone has a cellphone and can't live without it because it connects with the people and the world... it is almost a bionic heart... the cellphone has a vital power in our life... So, Conan Osiris gave to the cellphone an extra power... to call to heaven in order to kill the longing/ missing (saudade) of a soul that passed away. Therefore you see a dichotomy if he will kill the longing/ missing (saudade) or will the longing/ missing (saudade) kill him. And he doesn't have the courage to pick up the life, because he's suffering and he wants to die with the pain inside him... But then he decides to go downstairs and live and wreck the cellphone... both his and cellphone's soul. Then, in the end he decides to keep the cellphone because he shot an arrow to the longing/ missing (saudade) and continues with his life (or not).
Besides this message, how many of us lost a relative... the love one... a friend... in a war... with cancer... in an accident... whatever... and decided to wreck the phone because the pain was unbearable? Or you didn't want to listen that news by cellphone? Or even did you never wished to have a special cellphone to listen for the last time the voice of a person who passed away???

As you undurstood this is more than just a song. This is a very sofistcated performance with a lot of different meanings.
There's a lot of people from the ancient Portuguese colonies living, since just two or three generations, in the Lisbon suburbs. They are from brasil, Angola, Mozambique, Timor, Cabo Verde, Guiné, etc. And they have benn living, side by side with the Portuguese lower class, for three or four decades. In the beginning the Portuguese people call them refugees and looked them with fear and mistrust. But nowadays they live together as a comunity. At the same time, they start to expresse a new artistic language with an incredible mix of different origins. That's why you heard Fado, Asian, South american, African, gypsies or Arabian sounds and that's why the dancer is so different.
The lyrics are also very deep and beautiful. It's about someone who is looking for a relative who has already passed away. He has a mobile phone with everithing he can imagine in his hand but that is not enough to call to heaven. With our mobil phone we think we have the intire world in our hand but it still missing the love of someone who has already gone.
Conan osiris is a Portuguese lower class boy who had lose his father wirh eight years old. His father died of a drug overdose.

I find myself mesmerized every time I hear it. :-D My mother died when I was young....not as young as Conan, but young still. So I've had that feeling in my life too and can relate. :-)
The mask on his face is representing Osiris the egyptian god of the dead and the afterlife, since this song is about the death of someone he loved and that he no longer can call on his "telemóvel" (cell phone). This is about the power of technology versus its uselessness towards life and death.

Telemóveis = mobile phones. Literally the song's about him having broken his mobile when trying to call Heaven. Metaphorically = he broke his heart when trying to call someone who's not there anymore and who he misses a lot (this is my interpretation).
