As long at the end of the film I say to myself “That’s my Superman” then the movie is a achievement to me.
Agreed
If I don’t say daddy take me at the end, it’s not for me
@@AlkalineInsides 😂😭
@@AlkalineInsides same
@@AlkalineInsideshope you're a woman cuz Superman's cape don't swing that way.
Love how each DCU movie will have different tones from each other
Me too, should be cool!
Yeah, that’s because each character has a different tone than the other, which in my opinion the DCEU didn’t do for the most part.
It’s important to make Batman and Superman different from each other, to make Metropolis and Gotham different from each other, that way when the 2 hero’s meet each other there is a big contrast between the two making the team up much cooler
They should but characters neddn't be LOCKED into a particular type of film...that is retarded.
I can imagine James Gunn moving the trailer release date just so that Grace Randolph is wrong about it.
Haha yes I would not be surprised
Lol, probably
I love the way these updates keep getting better and better. It's also nice that I've been here since the first episode.
Yeah but what we've actually 'seen' looks like dog crap. That suit is atrocious ... And I don't know how they can introduce a character like Krypto without going full on camp. I'll believe all this stuff Gunn is saying when I see the movie when it hits streaming. 😂
Thank you so much for the constant support
@@OurMovieNews You're welcome. 😁👍🏻
@Fiveash-Art I was responding to @TSLMS_SHADOW
@@Fiveash-Art I personally love the suit, hopefully the movie is good, but time will tell
0:59 oh i like how he said it would be "pretty" family friendly so there will be some dark scenes
Yeah it’s not fully family friendly which is interesting
Sexy Eve Teschmacher. You know. Like the first one. Wouldn't be surprised if Gunn sneaks a pimp in there as well. :D
SUPERMAN's Tone is absolutely what we needed for a SuperMan film. Its Perfect
Agreed
Nah we need Cavill with the Russo Brothers as directors.
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff we need to move on from Cavill. He got unlucky due to WB. And hes now 40s
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff Maybe at Marvel that might happen.
@ASM_Nikunj nah they can continue with their new supes and do a separate film with an older Supes (Cavill) like they did the Logan movie.
I ❤ Superman 2025 is gonna be a perfect masterpiece😊
see, Our Movie News? James, sure has a certain style, but that does not mean he can't adapt to different tones. i would think him shallow if he could not do even that
I know, I’ve been pretty open saying that exact thing.
"relatively serious" (not man of steel) + "pretty family friendly" (not marvel comedy) = 1 Customer
I think that is an extremely incorrect calculation
This comment couldn’t be anymore terrible
Lol one of the most nonsensical comments I've ever seen.
So...obvious that math ain't ur strong point unless it's being graded by Snyder shills
Centrally right balance between humor, heart, and serious moments in the film
This is great news! I'm a ride or die DC fan, so I'd see this regardless, but now I'm even more excited.
Nice!
IMO Superman is a funny character, but in a different way. Reeve and Hoechlin's Clark is funny because of how dorky and nerdy he is. Superman though is pretty serious; I always imagine him cracking a dad joke whenever he saves a kid or something. Nothing over the top.
Not funny. Lighthearted
Yeah. Clark’s kinda funny in a not intentional way.
Why do you think Superma. Is dorky? Can you reference the comics run or the novel?
@@gohanson27 Clark Kent has always been portrayed as clumsy, and he dresses like a person who is a nerd. At least when he is working for the Daily Planet. In the graphic novel All Star Superman there is a chapter that shows him using his dorkiness to hide his identity from Lex
@ S&L, MAWS, Reeve’s films, Grant Morrison’s pre-New 52 comics, etc. I don’t mean Superman is dorky, just Clark. It’s part of the act and I love it. It’s funny. When he’s Superman he’s not, just as Clark to throw people off.
From what I'm getting from James Gunn quote regarding the tone it sounds like Superman (2025) will have the tone similar to Superman The Movie (1978) , Superman The Movie was serious at points but it also had a sense of humor while also having fun moments that kids could enjoy so this is my guess regarding the tone of Superman (2025) it will have a similar tone of Superman The Movie.
That's exactly what I am excited about. That's the problem with people who think Snyder's MOS is the standard for Superman when the standard was set over 80 years ago. I loved MOS l but the thing that put me off was that there was no joy in it. I can't remember anybody even smiling in the movie. A "serious" movie can still have humor if it's not the overarching theme.
@maysonstorm4956 yeah I agree , I love Man of Steel but that movie is very serious and very bleak and actually Superman did smile and laugh when he first tested out his powers to fly and Clark and Lois smiled at each other at the end of Man fo Steel when she said welcome to the planet but besides these examples yeah not many people expressed happy emotions in Man of Steel
@@maysonstorm4956Cavill was good, just a horrible director. Just don't want to see another Thor Ragnorok theme with endless jokes, because that's not Superman.
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff That's what I mean. Cavill was great as the Man of Steel. Like you said, it was the director. Superman was too dark and moody. I feel like Snyder was trying to make a Batman movie starring Superman. As far as tone for Superman 2025 I don't a comedic movie either but I don't mind a little comic relief from time to time.
People forget that MoS was in response to the criticisms of Superman Returns. Superman Returns had most of the traits and troupes of Donner's films yet folks didn't like it. The reality is the lack of widespread success of Superman films is due to the character itself and not the tone of the movie.
But the suit looks weird.
You know it's a good day when our movie news makes a new video.
Thank you mate
Love your work. Feels good to be among fellow enthusiastic DC fans.
Thank you!
YES, Captain America Trilogy & First Spiderman Trilogy Type TONES.👌🎯👍.
I absolutely love the Road To Superman episodes. I am truly excited for this Superman movie.
i really like what James Gunn is doing so far. I guess he's trying to go back to the Reeve era again.
I like it not a dark Superman but a serious Superman when he needs to be. A comedic Superman in my opinion would never work. Serious and dark Superman are too different things. I’m hoping this movie can deliver 🙏🙏🙏
I’m hyped 🔥

Family friendly? It will fail like shazam and blue beetle..
tbh, as long as the suit looks good in the movie I'll be happy and remember David's suit takes inspiration from the new 52 superman suit which had the lines and a collar it has the classic trunks and bright colors the yellow outline is from the fleischer logo and it's mixed with the kingdom come logo and it has the classic yellow and red instead of the red and black! i think the problem with david's suit is the material they used btw i love your're videos
Thank you! And yes I agree the material is the issue, the actual design is great.
Gunn’s previous projects weren’t even entire comedies, Peacemaker and Guardians 3 both got EXTREMELY dark at several different points.
But were mainly comedies
Some folks think if you have comedy in your stuff then your can't have mature and dark moments. Never ever understood the shortsightedness of this thought. TSS, Peacemaker, Guardians 3 all have extremely mature story beats, but because they crack jokes some think it undermines the seriousness of it. That's called nuance.
I haven’t heard the phrase “web series” in a long time and I missed it so much, thank you.
I'll mention it more in future videos!
anyone who thought the Guardians movies were a joke clearly never watched said movies
Compared to the majority of the MCU films, it's not an inaccurate assessment. They have heart to them, but besides maybe the Ant-Man films and later two Thor movies, they're much more comedic.
They were definitely a joke. The entire first movie and 2nd were literally known for that. Compare them to their comic counterparts and you can see the obvious.
@@ChocolateEffigyyeah, they have jokes in them cause they're comedies. But the Guardian films have as much heart and as much character development and story as any MCU franchise.
The fact that he said Supermans tone will be relatively serious makes me extremely excited about Gunn's reboot. Now obviously it's not going to be dark & gritty like Man Of Steel but it's also not going to be a Guardians film which is what I was worried about.
I've become more and more optimistic about this movie as time has gone on and more info about it keeps coming out. This and Lanterns are my most anticipated DCU projects.
And that artwork at 7:23 looks fantastic!
I gotta feeling that this new Superman movie will be like Tom Holland’s Spiderman but instead of being a high schooler, he’ll be a freshly grad student. And I little bit of Invincible’s tone, that has funny and serious moments. Funny thing about those two medias that they have their own bestfriends. Peter for Ned, and Mark for William. I like to see Clark and Jimmy’s bestfriend chemistry in this new movie. The only media that perfectly captures their friendship was in My Adventures with Superman.
Either way, great video man. I hope this movie will be a blast. I can’t wait anymore for the trailer.
Thank you mate, really appreciate it
I would absolutely lose it if the movie starts off on a shot of a teen girl standing on the edge of a building, contemplating her existence, and whether it's worth continuing..
That would be very emotional
@OurMovieNews honestly would be perfect. One of the most iconic modern Superman comic moments that captures his compassion well
Superman needs a great movie now more than ever
Thank you.
You're welcome!
@ 🤩
Sounds good to me! I hope another generation gets a great Superman!
I was never worried. It’s these random weirdos that cry over everything that haven’t even seen a trailer. When James first announce DC projects and he said story was King. My worries ended. #RiseDCU
I ain't buying it! I hate the suit, the actor doesn't even look like a superman, and can we just get back to making none superheroes movies for a few years!
In the artwork, I'm seeing Superman dropping Lois off on the globe. 🤣🤣
I'm not surprised, this is the tone a Superman project needs. For him to be a hero that both puts people in danger at ease and puts the people causing the danger on edge. Also I've never heard of a Superman project being described as 'Captain America meets Dr. Strange' but damn it if it doesn't work. And that artwork really is great. I'm sure the suit will look fine in post. Take a look at a lot of other superhero suits we see on set opposed to in film and they all get touched up a bit.
Yeah no one else has described a Superman project like that but I think it sounds like it works and makes sense with what we know.
The roooooad
Tooooo SUPERMAN
its a little shady he is doing that releasing first to the press like they are huge superman fans. Honestly it tells James is insecure about the movie because there is a chance it is not good. Same situation with Captain America that they have to show press and some inner employees first lmao. DC once again is hopeless
I think that is not true at all
Thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
Thanks you too!
It could also be shown on new years day, a fresh start of year, for a fresh new take on Superman.
I’m going to say this, it’s simple. I am willing to wait until I see the trailer and until the movie comes out, so let’s just wait and see what happens.
I wouldn't mind if this would be rated PG
He didn’t sound so sure that it’s exactly family friendly 😂 he’s so funny. I see you Gunn. It’ll be family friendly enough! Lol
I think it is mostly family friendly other than a few scenes maybe
This is great news.
Gunn can say whatever he likes but the proof will be the movie itself, not his words. Everything I've seen from the filming of this movie concerns me deeply. And no teaser trailer yet is very odd indeed.
We're just under 8 months away, no teaser yet makes sense
From the BTS looks of Gunn's metropolis,he's going for the retro futuristic n civilians clothing ala superman the animated series n DC the new frontier (which the trunks fits brilliantly!).Unless Reeves does some retooling with the batman universe mainly Gotham..looking like art deco style like Bruce timm animated series or noir futuristic like the Arkham city game with zeppelin flying overhead. Then I can see a match-up of Cornswet n Pattinson(in trunks too) when scenes switch from metro to Gotham n back again during the movie..But the way as is of Reeve's batman now..hard no. Bring on the new Gunn's DCU Batman in trunks!
“Diego……Cornsweaty……”
Tbh i hope luthor scene are dark, or at least with some mad scientist vibes
Yeah me too
Smallville aloud Clark to have a sense of humour without it being overbearing
6:41 To explain why Grace be a negative Nancy towards DC every since late 2022.
Superman ❤
I don't like modern movies and haven't seen a superhero film since the Nolan Batman films. I would NEVER watch a film like Man of Steel. But from everything I've seen, this looks promising. Superman doesn't look evil in this one. As for "family friendly". Aren't ALL superhero films family friendly? Who's making superhero films that kids can't see?
Two things. People think James Gunn can only make comedic movies like Guardians. I know it was that franchise that put him on the map, but he was an indie director before Marvel called. Making very good film. Secondly, I agree 100 percent that I don't want comedy in serious moments in Superman or any DCU projects. I really liked the MCU especially during phases one through three. But one of my problems with Marvel during that time was putting jokes during serious situations. And I'm not the one asking for it, the Marvel movie is telling me it's a serious situation with the music and the moment. And then Iron Man for example said something stupid that destroy the moment and tone. Takes me as a fan out of the movie. Hope the DCU doesn't do the same things.
Yes! It Better Be Superman Legacy
Peace maker series and guardians films are awesome
I loved Guardians, wasn't so keen on Peacemaker though. Hopefully I like season 2
Looking good. Superman is a pretty serious story - he loses his entire civilization - even, his planet and parents when he is an infant. He's sent to to an alien planet, acquires superpowers and grows up in a loving family. In most versions and in the original telling of the story his human father dies when he is a teenager. He falls in love with a human woman, and in many versions his love is unrequited and he loves her from afar. That is nearly a medieval romance and he's a white knight fighting dragons (including humans want to kill him) constantly , with Science fiction and fantasy trappings. The Hero journey never fades away, it just changes eras.
Yes, humorous beats can be added.
I'm patient concerning the trailer. It comes when it comes.
I think it will be like spider man home coming
Looking forward to it! I hope it’s good, but it’s a little too early to tell. Wish the Synder shills would just move on, those films are dead, let it rest already.
People forget that GUN made BrightBurn somehow or is it selective amnesia
He was a producer on it, but he neither wrote nor directed it.
Who told you that he made it?
@@Francescojg isn't Producing making the thing??
@@chileshenguni6676 so him and 12 other producers “made” it??? Oh and also the director and the writer 2 writers.. I think they may have had some hand in making the film
@@Francescojg that's my point exactly
I want to applause for this channel admin ,who is way better than WB and dc who is catering all the info to fans like me and many other ❤
I appreciate that!
But Guardians of the Galaxy wasn't supposed to be comedic because they're not in the comics.
But Gunn was allowed to because they’re unknown characters.
I’m hoping this is a movie I can take the family too.
I think you will be able to!
So Superman is going to be family-friendly? As he should be he should not be brooding or snapping people's necks. That's not how Superman works. It's about time we got a director that actually understands Superman. Where the hell was this in the DCEU? Why were we stuck with Edgelord Man for so long? I'm gonna let James Gunn cook. Not a fan of him hiring Tom King but I'm curious to see what he does with the DCU.
' im getting anticipation fatigue with this film.
This film will have stupid not funny jokes and make Superman Clark Kent look like a buffoon moron. Shameful.
That’s a crazy assumption with no evidence.
I think Grace Randolph knows a lil more than what Gunn cares to admit. And probably has went and changed his movies several times, on account of her insider. But that is just my opinion.

Then you didn’t listen properly.
“Family friendly” are the key words. “Relatively serious” If you’re not understanding these words they are aka Goofy and stupid. His “intent”. All this language is leading to a goofy movie and that is clear from the costumes we’ve already seen.
I think you are assuming a hell of a lot

Him saying it will be serious is one thing, and man I hope he means that because he doesn’t always stay true to what he says. But the cast have said it’ll be funny and it may not be sorry anyone else but it does to me, Gunn can’t help himself but throw jokes here and there. His last guardians was serious but he right away through joke that ruined the whole moment and scene. I hope he doesn’t do it here, either way I’m looking forward to the movie
How will it be serious with krypto?

Animals don't make things goofy, lol. Gunn let his talking raccon be an allegory for animal abuse in the 3rd movie, and he made those baby rocket scenes the most serious and emotional scenes in that movie.
Just because a dog is in it doesn't mean it can't be serious

Same!
Gunn has a reputation for saying one thing and then another. So, quotes from Gunn hold little weight with me. We'll all find out for sure once the film comes out and we see it for ourselves. Before that, I'm not holding my breath. -OG
Fair enough
BOYCOT Woke baggyman he needs help to save people due to his baggy suit. 🙏 praying for u man
That was my biggest issue with the DCEU. Everything had the same tone. I like how Batman is dark and doesn't trust anybody and I like how Superman is light and is more optimistic. That's who they are and that's what I wanna see in the DCU and I want it done right. Superman is not always dark and depressed. Zack Snyder got the character wrong.
I liked the early DCEU approach but I also agree the DCU having varied tones will be nice!
DC isn't 100% dark. That's where Snyder got it wrong. I like Man of Steel, yes. But is it the best Superman movie ever made? No. I have it because I'm a Superman fan.
I think it was mainly serious than dark
I have zero faith for Gunn… he has already proven to be really bad at adapting stuff, and writes fanfiction more than a real adaptation. But I really hope he proves me wrong. My other issue is that the actor didn’t took the role serious. He should have trained like crazy to avoid wearing that horrible suit. The Superman & Lois one looks way better and I also thought that amazing actor all he needed was more training. Superman should be huge.
The current actor is bigger than Cavill. Who do you want playing the role? A bodybuilder?
@@Francescojg Have you seen Superman in comics or Superman TAS (The only good animated adaptation)? The dude is not a body builder but he is huge.
Sure, this new actor might be taller than Cavill, but height really doesn't show or matter in films. Just look at Tom Cruise.
What really matters is how you look, and David might be fit, but he's way too slim, lacks muscles, and they had to make his suit look like some astronaut uniform. As matter of fact, he looks tiny inside that suit.
He should've put half the effort Cavill did to look massive wearing the Superman uniform. And I say half, because with 10 centimeters of difference David would look even bigger if he had put some work into it.
Dude has the perfect look for a Superman, but I really don't see any love from his side.
@@robertoj.9509 Comics and children's cartoons are not representative of what the typical muscular human looks like.
Height looks exactly how the filmmakers want it to look. Tom Cruise isn't shown to be short because that's a very deliberate effort to make it look like that on screen.
David is actually pretty huge for his height and if you do a quick google search on his physique during training you'll see that he made massive lean muscle gains compared to his natural build. In no universe would I walk into a gym and see a guy like that and say "he's too slim and lacks muscle". Ridiculous statement.
Not sure which lowly youtuber told you that his suit was made to be less skin tight because David wasn't big enough. The suit was designed to look precisely the way it will show on film (we haven't actually seen that yet) and it wouldn't matter if Chris Bumstead was cast, the suit would be made the same. I think I remember something about the suit and film being heavily inspired by All Star Superman. Which it does look like that aesthetic.
To say that he didn't put in effort in training is ignorant. Obviously with his gains, he was putting in a great effort. Muscles don't just build without effort. It's kinda the whole physiology of muscle gain/loss
@@Francescojg Well, maybe comics and cartoons don't represent "real live" people, but when you compare Cavill and David, both one next to another wearing their Superman outfit... Cavill looks WAY MORE muscular, proving my point: David didn't take the effort to look like that. Sure, he's fit, and we should appreciate how good he looks... But he's supposed to represent Superman. Superman is not a lean athletic guy. He's a muscular guy.
And I don't know what gym you're visiting, if you really visit any, but at least in here it's pretty damn easy to see people twice as big as he is. I have way more muscles than David, and I don't consider myself to be "huge". As matter of fact, our type of physique is what we call "Athletic" which suits way more for a Nightwing or a Flash.
The only shot we had at him on the gym was when he's sweating and buffed, flexing, wearing a hat, and yes, in there, he looked big. But we saw already pictures of him in the suit... and he looks really small. Maybe it's the horrible uniform they gave him, but he does look really small...
And I won't blame the outfit for a single reason... David released an amazing film this year, on April, it's on Hulu if you want to watch it... In there you'll see him in a beach, and he's not looking like a Superman should.
And I don't know who told you this outfit was inspired on All Star... But it's bullshit. All Star Superman is classic outfit, like the one Reeves wore. The one David is wearing is like a mixture of New 52 and Classic One. I kind of like it, but at the same time... Too much foam.
@@robertoj.9509 Cavil looks more muscular because he's wearing a skin tight looking suit that takes half an hour for the crew to get him into and sew it up. It also has muscle plates underneath the suit to make the fake muscles still pop when limbs are outstretched and muscles not contracted. Feel free to check out the behind the scenes shots and see for yourself.
David and other actors wore the MOS suit during casting and the suit tore because they were bigger (taller and broader) than Cavil.
Alright man, what can I say you must be enormous and we're all envious (including David) of your physique. The guy is only 6'4" so he's the tallest Superman we've had and he was floating between 230-240 pounds during shooting (more than 30 pounds heavier than Cavil in MOS) so I guess all the guys at your gym at 8 feet tall and weigh over 400 pounds of pure muscle... Maybe you work out with stage ready bodybuilders and one of them should be Superman in the next franchise.
Yeah the photo of him stretching the singlet and flexing, looks pretty good to me but what do I know.
Is that the film "Greatest Hits"? It was shot in 2022.... Why on earth would he look like Superman when the film wasn't even announced yet, let alone casting, let alone preparing for a role once cast??? I can't tell if your being serious or trolling at this point.
James Gunn was the one that said Superman 2025 would be "inspired by" All-Star. To me, the aesthetic of the way that suit fits (looser fitting) looks pretty similar. Nothing to do with colours or design of lines, just the fit.
You said David Corenswet was a good actor in another episode. I don't disagree with that, but I'm just curious what all you've seen with him. I've only seen Twisters. @superwise (and his second channel Schway Sanctum) has a lot of clips I've seen with David from shows like Hollywood.
I guarantee this movie is gonna suck.
I guarantee you have already made your mind up.
