The dessert has a bit of salt because it has coconut milk. When salt is paired with coconut milk it enhances the flavor of coconut milk otherwise the coconut milk flavor will be muted. So any dessert with coconut milk will always be slightly salted.

First, Loy looks very pretty in pink Nyonya dress 🤩🤩Second, I envy the dishes you ordered - very good selection, for my taste 😋😋 What makes nasi ulam special are the raw herbs that are mixed with the rice and sambal. You are right; You are eating salad bibimbap👍🏼👍🏼 The best way to enjoy the asam tumis prawns is by eating with plain, white rice. I can also eat 2 bowls of rice with just that asam tumis. My favourite Nyonya dessert is the black glutinous rice (juk). Yes, a pinch of salt is added to the coconut milk, which makes that dessert tasty and special. I grew up eating all those Nyonya dishes, which takes a lot of time to cook.
Hi dear :) Thanks for the comment! I think the spicy taste differs between Korean and Malaysian cuisine. Korean spiciness tends to linger on your tongue and gives a bit of a numbing sensation, while Malaysian spiciness is more intense and brief. Hope that explanation helps you understand better😂
