Project RAIZE gets an engine undertray from Shopee! How good is it?

- The build continues! In this vlog, we feature an engine undercover/undertray that we bought from Shopee for the 2022 Toyota Raize. There are other parts featured as well in the video, and as usual we unbox, install, and review all these parts. I also also explain the necessity for extended stabilizer end links for the front suspension of the Raize when you lift the car. Enjoy!

I would probably recommend it a lot especially if there are a lot of stray cats in your area. It can help in preventing them from climbing up your engine bay and protecting your engine and wirings

this is the most important accessory for your Toyota Raize, The engine undercover. ito talaga una ko binili tapos yun mud guard. other accessories will come later.

Thank you very much. No plans on any power mods because increasing power would be asking too much from the transmission already. Yung D-CVT transmission is only rated up to 150nM, and the stock Raize is already at 140nM so any more power will be detrimental.
Nice add-ons. I'm excited to get our Raize. The prob is it has only been a week since we made a reservation for one. I would certainly add an undertray like that. It really looks nice and durable. Hopefully, we won't have to wait for so long, or we might have to go for another car from another car brand coz we need it for when the face-to-face classes start.

Hello boss, does this void the warranty if you install the engine undertray on your own?
I think it's meant to have undertray in other countries especially in colder countries with 4 seasons plus definitely it helps in road/wind noise at greater speeds.one of my older cars got into accident and fix it myself I had the chance to drive it without shroud or undertray and noise was noticeable or more pronounced.i think it's just cost cutting measure by Toyota to sell without it besides most cars and suv's have undertray and No issues at all with heat harming the engine.

No difference so far. Did a couple of city drives already
don't install it. let that turbo engine breathe just like the toyota engineers designed it.

The undertray really look nice but just curious beside of protection, would it be improved anything else such as NVH or airdynamic...? 🤔
It probably aids in aerodynamics cause the underbelly is more streamline now

Whats your gloves brand bro, is it used for that kind of installing underneath things?
Mechanix. Its a multi purpose glove. I used to use it for airsoft but its also a very good mechanic's glove haha. Super durable and still intact after many many years of use.
Added peace of mind protection yung undertray lalo na sa baha and also sa mga small animals (daga, pusa, aso etc) na tumatambay sa ilalim ng sasakyan

How's the performance of your Raize after installing the undertray? Does it overheat? And in case you add this, does it void the warranty of your engine parts?
U can remove it anytime. Anyway, i dont think it void the warranty cuz nothing affect the engine

Hi, I'm planning to install this on my Raize, but I'm concerned about overheating? Did the car run hotter during summer?

paps.. notice mo rin pag may ganyan... once you OFF the engine... yung hot air.. escapes through the front grill.. i'm using yung orsen shield na pagka mahal pa noon.. buti may ganyan na and fit talaga sa raize...
yes pansin ko nga din. Whether or not naman may cover sa baba, hot air always has the tendency to go up and escape sa taas, hindi sa baba hehe

Baduy in my opinion. Kung type ninyo sya, go for it. We modify our cars for our own happiness. Not for other people. :)

Isa s mga sinabi ni RR na advatages and probably reason n rn ng Toyota to design it that way is engine heat management. Pg nilagyan mo dw ng undertray pwedeng mas matrap ung heat that would shorten also the life of ur engine's components specially the ones that are made out of rubber and plastic. So question is, pg nilagyan mo ng undertray, para mamanintain pa rn ung magandang heat dissipation, should you install a modified hood cover with hood scoop?
Heat will always be trapped inside regardless kasi hot air will always want to go up (not down). But all of this heat management concerns isn't supposed to be a problem because the moment the car starts moving, fresh air enters the front grille and the hot air inside the engine bay is dissipated out of the car through the large space behind the subframe (if naka undertray).
all those cars with under tray, wala namang na ooverheat sa kalsada. there is no other reason but cost cutting
pls do not believe on what vlogger RR is telling. he do not understand what he is talking about regarding undertray.

ang init ng may undertray sa turbo ko kinuha ko nalang, at lalong umingay pag ng idle at open hood

I personally decided not to install the enjine tray as i think will cause enjine flooding if goes over water as discharge water slower.
It actually prevents the engine from being submerged in water when you are going through a river crossing with momentum.

Ok naman. Walang difference sa feeling so far. Siguro sa fuel economy meron pero as of now wala pa kaming testing na nagawa masyado. Talagang pang protect lang sya ng engine so far. Water temps are the same.

Madali lang lulutong rubber hose and plastic parts mo dyan dahil nakukulob sa init lalo na sa traffic. May ganyan ang focus 2013 ang nangyayari lumulutong mga rubber hose pati plastic brake cap nabiyak dahil sa init ng engine bay.
may ganyan yung Ford Fiesta 2014 ko, wala naman bumiyak at nasira, considering pinapang track ko pa yun. It doesn't get any hotter than that.

my honda crv fitted with engine undercover, 13 years na wala naman overheating ng engine.
why toyota does not install that undertray? it helps to prevent rats or cats to stay on the engine bay

Underguard tray definitely will collect dust - mud worse case scenario a nest for rat 🐀 another Bad move upgrade.. poor raize
If you use the car on a regular basis, there is no chance for rats to build a nest there.
Kawawa na din siguro lahat ng Civic FK8 Type R and GR Yaris owners kasi lahat sila may undertray. 🤣 Bad move you say? 🤔 Do you have any idea how many cars come off the factory with an undertray?

Yeah that's not a valid concern. A lot of cars even basic ones have undertrays. The fact that hot air rises and not drops would mean undertrays don't necessarily affect temperatures significantly enough.
Just consider this, most modern cars comes completely covered with plastic ON TOP of the engine bay for a clean look. In fact even cars like the Vios have engine covers too. Cars aren't so primitive that their temperature control solely relies on flow of air.
As for it becoming a nest...if you use the car regularly it wouldn't even become a nest. Plus cars have their periodic maintenance too which...really, completely prevents nests. So no, not a "poor Raize".
Sure the undertray may or may not do anything. But it's nothing to...raize ...any concerns about.
