I love the aesthetic of this cassette cover. The image, the fact that it was released on cassette, and the eerie sound of the music really make this album seem as though it were something forbidden found in the middle of the woods.
I have no words to describe the sensation that the music gives to me, it is like a story, a very interesting story, in a grayish and dark atmosphere. It is so sublime.

The blinding blinking lights, the garish decorations, the same 10 songs played ad naseum, the creepy store Santas, the noxious odor of peppermint and pine and other "holiday scents", the plastic cheer of a society in a hurry drunk of the anticipation of one single day. Then it comes and it's all over. Like everybody coming down from a high in a cloud of undefined disappointment. Trees tossed to the curb once admired now stripped of their ornaments and garland lying naked in the streets.

its just ambient stuff. different strokes for different folks and all that. I imagine if you like metal and stuff, this probably doesn't do it for you, and that's totally fine. the point is trying to create a certain feel, in this case trying to create an "old gods"-ey feel that sounds like a romp through the Black Forest.

I am disappointed, in not having one, but am happy you got one! I didn't have a rig when I bought my first record either, but to finally get it all set up, was wonderful, to sit down and just listen, and not be distracted by the outside world was a totally different experience. So having this as your first one is going to be an other worldly ritual for you, and that's awesome!
This 5:50 - 6:10 mark is so amazing because the creaking sound we’ve been hearing for some minutes, finally ends. That transition makes me feel like I’m just floating in the void! So crazy.

Dark, somber music is so good for you. It doesn't depress me, it actually makes me feel alive and elevated. Ethereal music, chthonic music, music of the spheres. Music composed in the style of what William Blake called "the infernal method."

Dark Ambient is SO hard to do well, so much of it (and there is _so much of it_ ) is just moody synth dross + effects, but THIS is excellent! As an electronic musician myself, this dark ambient electronic music album is intriguing to say the least. The black goat is referenced in some ancient pagan practices. Most people don't understand, these ancient practices helped drive evil spirits away, not attract them.
Pazuzu (from The Exorcist) actually drove away evil spirits from Mesopotamian homes and protected the children because he was the biggest, baddest HDIC. Offerings were given to him to keep his more predatory inclinations assuaged but he protected homes and families before turning up as the villain in Exorcist.

I feel like this needs to have Christopher Lee's voice reading aloud spells, incantations, and invocations from the darkest of grimoires peppered in throughout.
If you close your eyes to this whole track we all have different imaginations when listen to this. It's like a scary story Dream to put your own fun spooky images into your mind of telling a story. There's watching horror movies, reading horror books and then there's listening to scary Dark Ambient music with your eyes closed to give you your own imagination to it. I love it!!!!!! No shock value along with sadistic lyrics. No crime to have your own imagination with just scary sounds and music which tells your own good haunting images.
Listening to this is like reading a book, or going on a journey. For me it's not just a random collection of spooky sounds but a cohesive sequence of events. It's very much up to interpretation but regardless it makes for a chilling adventure.
This is what I want when I think of "dark ambient". These are terrifying and interesting soundscapes rather than the endless sea of spooky wobbly synth sounds with a black and white picture of a castle on the front.
Tried to meditate to this & all I see is the inner workings of a great, ancient, soul draining machine cruising through the outer reaches of Time & Space, swallowing up entire galaxies as it looms nearer & nearer to our own plain of existence

I saw something very similar to it on the worst night of my life, when I was alone in the woods by the western branch of the Penobscot River in Maine. It's hard for me to listen to this album because of the memories it brings back.
in this album you can clearly hear strong influences of films i swear i saw as a child on late night british television that are now strangely not findable in any film catalogues and indeed appear to have never existed at all

tbh only 2nd wave black metal aimed at being a bit spooky. 1st wave was still acting more or less like normal metalheads, while modern BM seems more about cold aggression or about nihlism and emptiness. That, and the various mixed genre BM styles too

As dark as this album is, I watched a sunset with it today at around the 6:00 mark and it was a beautiful experience. 10/10 would recommend.
This is some of the darkest Dark Ambient I've ever listened to. I feel like we might be approaching a whole new genre with this music.

This is my absolute biggest fear and scariest thing ever I'm literally terrified of this cryptid it's actually pretty insane how scared I am.
I saw something very similar to it on the worst night of my life, when I was alone in the woods by the western branch of the Penobscot River in Maine. It's hard for me to listen to this album because of the memories it brings back.

in this album you can clearly hear strong influences of films i swear i saw as a child on late night british television that are now strangely not findable in any film catalogues and indeed appear to have never existed at all

tbh only 2nd wave black metal aimed at being a bit spooky. 1st wave was still acting more or less like normal metalheads, while modern BM seems more about cold aggression or about nihlism and emptiness. That, and the various mixed genre BM styles too
Dark ambient is just on a whole other level compared to metal, it’s something to do with its frequencies I believe.
