  • Hello Zebras!
This has been a rough year for me - I'm still constantly learning how to adapt to my changing abilities from day to day. Maybe I can turn this into a yearly check-in? Let me know what you use to help you do the things you do!

I mean, we strap ourselves into a lot of metal braces 🤣😂🤣 does that make us temporary cyborgs 😂

I recently got an electric wheelchair for bad pain and fatigue and dizzy days. I was diagnosed with heds 8 years ago after a really bad knee dislocation where I broke my knee cap. I've dislocated both knees more times than I can count, I have really bad neck and Atlas issues causing dizzy days/weeks/months, and a constant pressure headache that I'm getting an adjustable cervical collar for. I have 6 pillows I sleep with so my shoulders and hips don't dislocate at night. I have many braces and some smart crutches that I use when I can't walk after a dislocation. But my favourite aid is my wheelchair, it's given me my life back, I was house bound before, now I can go out even when having a bad fatigue or pain day. I'm in the process of making it pretty, I'm going to spray the metal and I've made pretty cushion covers, and I'm going to sew some bags for it. 💗

I currently have a sparkly purple cane because why not. I also have braces for my wrists, ankles, and shoulders.

Oooo I might have to ask you about shoulder braces one day. They’re the one thing that haven’t slipped YET 😅

@@thebookishsocktoo My shoulders are definitely my worst area at the moment. So I have lots of tips!

I have a walking stick/ cane that I use to keep me from falling down I have braces for my knee, wrist , back and my ankle. I, too have EDS. I have a Rollator walker but I don’t use it because it takes so much room to put it in the car and then get it out when I get to where I need to go. I use a Wheelchair when I’m at my church because the building is big and I would be in pain and I would be lightheaded and feel like I’m going to blackout and I would not be able to focus on the service and God’s word.
