Ed Shiller, now based in Toronto, is an engaging speaker with a host of fascinating reminiscences of his work for civil rights and social justice while a student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in the early 1960s. In his subsequent career as a journalist for prominent news agencies like the New York Times and Reuters , he covered major international stories, and crossed paths with many of the world leaders of the day. Ed will begin the dialogue with a brief account of some of the lessons he has learned about the deep-seated causes of racism and how best to overcome them.
