People obviously come here expecting exceptional climbing (for obvious reasons), but the cinematography is also consistently top notch. Adam really has some very talented filmmakers in this team, if you never handled a camera it's hard to explain how challenging all of this is from a technical standpoint in this kind of cave. The angles, the light... it really takes serious expertise to make these shots look as amazing as they do. I promise you, try it, it'll look like pixel soup :) Congrats to the whole team !
For sure the camera team did a great job! But climbing at the edge of a cave actually provides super nice natural contrast, which if you know what you are doing benefits you as a filmer. The shade provided by the tree's also helps blocking the harshness of the sky a bit. Again, I don't want to downplay the work of the crew here. Just saying I would be happy to film at this location, as opposed to a cliff in full sunlight in the middle of the day for example.
Outside of great editing, and color, It's really just the use of a tripod. Seems to be taboo in most climbing filmmakers. Maybe cumbersome to get into the crag? Most climbing filmmakers feel the need to constantly be moving and adjusting exposures during shots. Bouldering videos are the worst. Climbing filmmakers need to learn to relax, put the camera on a set of sticks, and let the subject lead the way.
Adam explaining why the kneebar didn't work and why the sequence was important was such a cool bit, going into advanced detail of the move and the subtleties that make the difference between sticking it or not was so insightful.
Great video Adam! I love how this is really immersive. Slow progression, scenes of nature, the silence (no music when you climb), using your native language. Thank you for sharing, I felt like I was there. Great content, also special bravo to your video editor and cameraman: they are doing a fabulous job.
@@kreterakete I wondered about that translation given the context. Maybe sparkly, shiny or fancy could work? Ritzy doesn't really work unless the route is coated in gold leaf. Would love to hear from any bilingual Czechs on that one
I find it very impressive that, notwithstanding climbing for so many years, Adam is still enthusiastic as a kid for anything climbing related. Not only for comps or total-limit projects, but for the whole experience of climbing and discovering more climbing. Keep it up! We love you!
Makes me wish you had a show touring through the world while making/polishing routes. Evert video feels like a short film (By the way, I recommend using headphones while watching this)
Adam, you sir, are a SAVAGE!!!! and I mean that with the upmost respect. You and Magnus are the reason I started climbing again and have decided I will beat my crippling fear of big climbs and exposures like you put yourselves through. I don't know if I will ever be able to move my "exposure threshold" to where I am not terrified.... but I will die trying.... (hopefully not suddenly 😉😳) Thank you for the continuing inspiration and the top tier quality videos.... it is like we are right there with you and your crew... Honestly, I don't know how any of it is done.... crazy impressive all the way around. 👍
I believe that because of such routes most of us thinks Adam is still the best. It's not only about the grade as is, but what and how he is climbing and developing. He can climb whatever wherever. Great job Adam and thanks for sharing.
Me and my best friend moved from Italy to Slovakia just Tu visit your line in Bekov Castle... After this video, we'll consider to go to Slovakia again!
Might as well visit "Turniska", sector "klenba" (another cave with epic lines and great rock), or "Sulov rocks" for beautiful scenery, Adam also had a few burns there, even one 9a+ he hasnt done to this day.
Adams creative ability to find possibility in such an unconceivable line shows just how great is climbing intuition really is. Awesome episode as always, so so strong💪. Do you think he would've decked the ground if he didn't manage to get the second to last clip?
We have been here several times. It's a really beautiful place. We just hang on our hands like you, but in hammocks for the night :) There are several easier climbing areas nearby, the nicest climbing for us is under the Blázon ruin. Thank you Adam. p.s. I also filmed a short clip here, so send a big congratulations to the whole team, great job again.
Also worth mentioning that the first half of hogo fogo, "homo stropus" is a relatively easy and beautiful climb that most climbers can try out for themselves.
@@Thatclimbingirl 7b. Pretty much a 6c with a single hard move at the very and, the one where he puts a kneebar in and reaches far with his left into this huge opening. Its quite a reach but there are 4 methods to do it, so anyone can do the move.
@@alexbarcovsky4319 I can only easy 6b indoor routes so not everyone can do it. I’m also quite weak and my hips and shoulders are at a high risk of partially dislocating during certain moves(thanks genetic condition).

"you need to climb with a lot of hooks, toe and heel, (bad) knee bars and have to be very technical and creative" no wonder Adam loves this route and crag 😅
Hey Adam, my friend Cobie had a video request for you where you would only eat cream cheese for a week and then go and climb routes to see how good you would be. ( He on-sighted a 5.6 on trad) let me know what you think! Love your videos.
Is 9a kind of a gradation depending upon the toughness of the route? Asking as I started following this sports recently after seeing Adam's videos, so hv less knowledge.

To solve this, after the ad, go to settings (the geared wheel top right side when you tap the video), then select subtitles and select the language you want. It's a shame you have to do it this way as sometimes subtitles became unavailable if you try to use the subtitles icon, even though the subtitles can still be turned on.
