I think there is a good food theory video on this. I'll summarize: electrolytes are good for exercise. However, not all electrolytes are created equal. The electrolyte you lose the most during exercise is sodium (aka salt). Of all the sports drinks, gatorade has the most sodium by a long sbot, and is therefore the best to drink before sports. A lot of these new sports drinks have potassium (an electrolyte) instead of salt. Ace K (an abbreviation of acesulfame potassium) is an artificial sweetener. So drinks like body armor and prime taste good and have low calories, but they are not great for sports. Thanks for coming to my TED talk

I think in Gatorade or Powerade's case, the sugar is supposedly there to help with better absorption of electrolyte and minerals, but it's junk food if you're not putting in the physical activity.

I saw it one time in a german store and sadly bought it out of curiosity...it tasted awfull. I normally see kids around 9-12 buying that stuff and posting it in their social medias. Prime clearly adresses kids and they buy whatever is hyped.

And to highlight the numbers, its the opposite of what he states in the video. he says 50g of sugar daily is appropriate, and the numbers say that 400g of sucrose is the daily. Another thing of it being sweeter than sugar? i dont know enough about the two but that is not inherently a bad thing. Idk if he just doesnt understand how to make content, or the more dangerous option that he does, and he is doing this on purpose for publicity, who knows xD

I'm sure that there's at least SOME educational content here, but your lack of camera personality and droning, monotone voice means it all just comes across as nackground noise. His voice is not monotone; it's actually quite a professional presentation style. He changes pitches and intones to suggest punctuation.

I do like KSI but I'm not a fan of Logan what so ever. Even tho I'm a somewhat big fan of KSI I still have to say I don't like the taste of prime, it's just like any fruit juice you can buy out there that has been mixed out with water
Swapped out a rough Dr Pepper slushy addiction for prime and I’ve certainly lost some pounds. I drink half a bottle one day finish off the next day. That cherry freeze is awesome. I’m well aware it’s not as good for me as straight up water but for now it’s curbed me guzzling down an XL slushy soda every day so I’ll stick with it for the time being.

If you want to drink healthy, make your own drink. If you want to drink delicious, go buy it in the supermarked. The two options simply don't go hand in hand, because healthy don't sell unless it taste good, and taste good can't be healthy, since sugar and spices are the only way to accomplish taste good.

you said FDA says to have no more than 5mg of sucralose per day, but the screenshot even says "5mg per kilogram of body weight" and they give an example of someone lighter than most people in the US at 136 lbs... which would still be 300mg per day... then you compare to added sugars on a 2000 calorie diet (probably not someone at 136 lbs), which should be 50,000 mg per day, then say that is 10,000 times more. No, 10,000 times more would be equal to 3 million mg of sugar.
I have had the Blue Raspberry Prime Hydration. it's trash. in my opinion 2/10.

You’re kinda missing the whole point of what is healthy. Yes counting the sugars and such is important but you need to look what is actually in the drinks, the ingredients. All those drinks have dyes in them that are very dangerous, like causing cancer dangerous. And prime has more forever chemicals in them than your saposed to have in your whole lifetime, in 1 bottle!! That’s why there is that huge lawsuit against prime right now. And yes looking at the ingredients in the protein bars are just the same. More times than not they will say contains a bio engineered ingredient. Which means it was made in a lab and it’s not natural ingredients. So yes checking the carbs and sugars in food is important but really understand all the other harmful ingredients you’re digesting and poisoning yourself with!! That goes for all food and drinks. Next time your out grocery shopping just check the label and I guarantee almost everything you pick up will say contains a bio engineered ingredient. So I wouldn’t worry too much about the calories or carbs or sugars, worry about all the lab poisons that are in the product!!
To make things even more confusing, those engineered products aren't always worse, they can sometimes be better than natural ingredients. If you want to look at things like supplements especially, there can be multiple variants of the same ingredient (some being useful, while others serve no purpose in the body) ; you really just have to know every ingredient nowadays

@@jimboh.2654 depends what ingredients you are talking about. Not everything natural is good for you; not everything engineered is bad. There are plenty of natural illegal drugs, there are also algal toxins in various seafood, cyanogic glycosides from plants & nuts, etc.. Some of these natural components can be lethal & in some instances the food is modified to reduce them & thus be safer to consume. High fructose corn syrup is technically considered natural (I don't consider it such, but it is classified as natural), you also have a lot of natural ingredients extracted from 1 thing & added to others. Carrageenan from seaweed is linked to GI diseases, heart diseases, cancer, etc.. Natural doesn't necessarily equate to good.

Recharge energy drinks which is expensive and not well known is a good healthy drink as well
The sound effects are way too loud and some of the animations are a bit goofy. With that said the writing and narration are both good. Gonna check these out more often.

Nice breakdown on sucralose, not enough realize it & if you’re weary of it, sucralose lovers will make fun of you/downplay it/double down about their love for it…it’s very weird. Products using sucralose usually advertise no HFCS or aspartame & usually used in “fit” drinks for those on strict zero sugar diets for many reasons.

Of course they aren’t good for you lol. I drank too many in one day and ended up in the hospital from potassium “poisoning.” My potassium was through the roof and I had seizures. They talk about Gatorade being so good for you because of the electrolytes but our bodies don’t need them. Our bodies produce what we need to survive on their own. As long as you don’t have any illnesses and you eat the right diet. I remember when they said it was a good replacement of water.
I buy these drinks cause they taste nice.. They aren't soda's and they are also not fruit juice, so it's like a different "genre" which brings more variety to the table. We all know Coke isn't good for you, yet we still buy it. Same applies here.

The worst part about Prime in my opinion is also that it really isn’t a sports drink. Gatorade is still a good option for high intensity sports due to its electrolytes (particularly sodium). Sodium is what helps your body store more water and regulate sweat. Prime only has 5mg of sodium, which is one of the contributing factors of why it tastes so much better than other options. You did not mention Bio Steel in this video but I would argue it’s just as good as body armour.
