RIP Peter Richard Krokus's singer, 1975. Solothurn. And at the same time, bass player, singer, composer.WHITE LIGHT ( also sometimes rythm guitar and drums). Once, he invited CHRIS VON ROHR and his dog, at our place, in 🇨🇭CH -Biel-Bienne BE. 😊
Back in the old days krokus was a progressive rock monument staple that constantly set the bar higher and higher. Even what they did in the 80s they did it with style. They're such good musicians they have the ability to transcend generations.
This must have been when Marc Storace was still doing the band Tea, which is even further from the 80s Krokus sound then this is. - Saw him gig with Tea in 1975 at my college in England. - Years and years before I'd ever heard of Krokus.
This kind of reminds me of the fact that Deep Purple is similar in the sense that their first 3 albums with singer Rod Evans are nothing like their later material. Similar situation. Ian Gillan and Marc Storace were game changers for their respective bands. Musically this reminds me of something like...Idk...Nektar? I like how there is no trace of ac/dc in this lol.
AC/DC are like coal miners who struck a rich vein and never gave it up after Angus was quoted in TIME Magazine (US) as being in himself "a catastrophe for music!" or something like that? BLACK ICE is cool because it's more bluesy and puts Malcolm's songwriting (and leads) up front with similar dire lyrical feel... One must remember THEY'RE SCOTSMEN! "Accept no substitutes!" PS: I used to think my own family had been Border Reivers but nah - just another Norman Overlord, y'know, Vikings with the backing of the Roman Church strewing stone churches about the landscape! ---> Masters at sailing and Pest Control as see rats? "KILL IT WITH FIRE!" - yeah, that would be Our Team! (beaming) - Annette
